Vizcaya doesn’t make it easy, and maybe that’s the point. This isn’t a place that bends for you. It asks you to show up with a plan and some respect for what it is. But only a few places in Miami come close to the kind of romance it offers when you have a plan.

Whenever a professional photographer is involved or the moment resembles an engagement shoot, a portrait photography permit is required and must be arranged in advance. There is no better place to start a Christmas story other than 5th Avenue. The whole street is lit up with elaborate light shows erected by such establishment names as Saks, Cartier, and Tiffany. Amongst these lighted windows and horse-drawn carriage shows moving along 5th Avenue, you almost feel like you are walking inside a Christmas movie.

Dumbo

For couples who love cityscapes and energy, DUMBO is a dream come true. The cobblestone roads, industrial brick walls, and Manhattan Bridge towering above make it very difficult to beat this spot when it comes to taking a memorable photo. The addition of lights during December gives this spot an extra special ambiance.

Pro tip: our favorite time is during golden hour, when the sun shines on to the bridge and lights up everything gold. We like to put our couple on Washington Street, with the bridge directly behind them, and then take them to Pebble Beach to capture a romantic moment there. As an option to go big, we can organize letters reading “MARRY ME” underneath the archway and lights on the cobblestones.

Proposal on the Ice in Central Park

A fun and cinematic experience can be found at Wollman Rink, which is a winter wonderland. The cityscape is one with you as you glide hand-in-hand across the snow. The view of the city gives a picture-perfect background to every photo!

Pier 17

Pier 17 offers both the peacefulness of the water and views of the Brooklyn Bridge. During the holiday season, it is decked out with garlands, lights, and igloos available to rent. The blowing of Christmas music can be heard from a market that is close by.

Advice on proposals: The best time to take photos is during sunset or blue hour. W can provide you with champagne and roses. This setting is both cozy, private, and chic.

Indoor Christmas Proposal

Other times, proposals can occur indoors where everything is warm, intimate, and private. During the holiday seasons, restaurants, penthouses, and other venues in New York become romantic havens enveloped with fairy lights and candlelight.

Just picture yourself bringing your partner into a dimly lit room with a giant heart made up of red roses above you, while candles line up on the ground, and a radiant message like “Will You Marry Me?” is placed at the back. The air is filled with a subtle fragrance of flowers and vanilla, while music is playing softly in the background.

Insider tip: If you want an ambiance like this one, we can actually take a private dining area or a boutique suite and make it happen. We incorporate flower arches, heart-shaped arrangements, balloons, and string lights to make you envision this ambiance. Indoor proposals during December are ideal because you can remain warm while being around festive-themed items.

Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree

This is definitely one of the best places to experience Christmas in NYC. The huge tree, lights, and music make it impossible to not feel festive. Just beware, due to crowds, timing is everything. Go around midnight when there are fewer people, but the tree is still lit up. Do not forget to capture this moment on camera with a professional photographer!

The Edge

To make your proposal feel like it is reaching the Sky High level, you can’t go wrong with The Edge. The Edge is elevated over one thousand feet above Manhattan and gives you a 360-degree view of the city. The glass floor and walls make you feel like you are hovering above Manhattan. The view of Manhattan lights is almost surreal once the sunset arrives.

Insider tip: Get the earliest or last time slot to ensure you have some privacy. The sunrise proposals are absolutely stunning here—there aren’t any crowds, and you can have the whole platform to yourself. Now, proposing at sunset sounds romantic, but you can make it more memorable by bringing some winter bouquet and having a photographer with you who can mingle with other on-lookers. To celebrate, head to Peak Restaurant, which is merely one level up, to toast with champagne while taking in the city view.

Vessel

The Vessel at Hudson Yards is more like an art sculpture that looks like it is straight out of modern art. During Christmas, it is covered with lights that are golden from top to bottom, making it radiate a surreal ambiance that shines on its copper walls. Walking into The Vessel is like navigating a light maze, and each level gives you a distinct view of your surroundings.

One tip about proposing is to propose on the second or third tier, rather than on level one. This is because you will experience more privacy while being surrounded by the gold geometric design of the structure. The stairs’ symmetry provides an incredible background design to wide-angle proposal shots, particularly during those minutes after sunset when lights start to radiate brightly. We recommend to add a minimalistic decor with candles and “Marry Me” letters.

It was a chilly night at the “Top of the Rock.” As they stood on the observation deck that sits atop Rockefeller Center, Matt held Lisa close as they peered at the stunning skyline and twinkling lights of New York City. Deciding it was time to make his move, he slowly turned to face her. As he began to describe how much he loved being with her and how much she meant to him, he dropped down onto one knee. He asked if she would take his hand in marriage and a resounding “yes” carried through the brisk evening breeze!

That wasn’t the end of their special moment! Paparazzi Proposals had been there the entire time, snapping photographs of every second of this magical moment in their relationship. Now that they were officially engaged, our photographer popped out and took some couple portraits of the beautiful newly-engaged couple. Chris had arranged for a romantic dinner at the beautiful Chart House restaurant in Weehawken, with it’s stunning views of the Hudson River and Manhattan skyline. Convinced it was simply another date night, Priscilla had NO idea what was really in store for her.  Before they sat down for their reservation, Danny took her to the waters edge to soak in the twinkling lights the skyline had to offer. Looking deep into her eyes, he slowly slid down on one knee and asked if she would be his wife. Ecstatic, Priscilla declared, “yes!”

That wasn’t the only surprise in store for her. She was thrilled when Danny pointed out our paparazzi-style photographer as he discreetly snapped pictures of the two of them. They now had photographs of the moments leading up to, during and after his actual proposal. However, what’s even more special is their love story.

Proposing to her meant so much to Mitchell. So he hired Paparazzi Proposals to provide surprise engagement photography and capture this special once in a lifetime moment to cherish forever!

They met a little under 2 years ago.  Mitchell is a sober member of AA and director of a 40 bed drug treatment facility. One day he received a call from a friend asking if he would accept a new patient. After the friend explained how special of a person this young lady was, Mitchell agreed to give her an opportunity.

That’s when he met Bryann.  Within a week of moving in she was declaring “I am going to marry Mitch Brown!”  In the months that followed, she remained sober and became one of the more “responsible” clients of the facility. As time passed, they became very close friends. He was forced to fly to NYC for a family emergency and needed someone to step in and help with drug testing the residents in his absence.  Bree not only accepted that challenge, she handled her responsibilities in a capacity Mitch never expected.  Learning this upon his return, her offered her a  job.  She accepted, and still insisted she would one day marry Mitch!

Months later, as his recovery continued to progress, he finally felt he is was in position to be the type of man she truly deserved. he asked her out and the rest as they say, is history. It’s amazing how the universe conspired to bring two people, one troubled and in pain, together in a way that they could help support and lift each other up with love.

The spot he chose to propose was equally special.  It just so happened to be the exact spot in Washington Square Park where his mother and father met 50 years ago.  This spot had such a special meaning to them, it was the perfect place to accept Bree into their family. It doesn’t get much better than this!

It was the first anniversary of their very first date and so Rich wanted to to take Shannon back to the spot where it all had started: the restaurant where they had their first date.

Picture NoMad, the cool part of town North of Madison Square Park in Manhattan. Fall was finally here and  we were ready to help Rich secure his girl! Our paparazzi photographer was waiting out of sight to capture Rich and Shannon arriving and to photograph this amazing proposal. Shannon had no idea and was bowled over by Rich’s gesture.

We loved being part of this proposal as it was simple, evocative and the joy on both Shannon and Rich’s faces is evident. It doesn’t hurt that New York is at her most photogenic at this time of year too, which set the scene beautifully for their proposal photos.

It was cool day in New York, perfect for an easy afternoon of wine and conversation. But Brian had one last question he needed to ask!

As the couple enjoyed some fine wine with the sommelier, chatting about the floral high notes and bouquets in a cosy wine room, filled to the rafters with wines from around the world, the scene was set.

The sommerlier, who was “in” on the secret conveniently made himself absent, leaving to get more wine. On cue, Brian dropped to one knee and proposed to Stacy, who was flabbergasted but delighted at the course the afternoon had taken. She said yes! Our hidden snapper, who himself had posed as a photographer taking stock photos for the website was there to capture it all! The results speak for themselves, and we join Brian and Stacey’s friends and family in congratulating them on their engagement.

Under the ruse of going to lunch for a family birthday the couple got all dressed up and headed to Central Park.

As they walked down the steps of Bethesda Fountain Minaz dropped to one knee and asked Taslim to marry him. Bethesda Fountain was an important place for the couple as it is Taslim’s favorite part of Central Park. Our discreet photographer was on hand to capture the moment on camera however the story does not end there.

After saying yes (YAY!), the couple strolled around Bethesda Fountain some more and Taslim was delighted to meet her nieces, who had been in on the plot from the beginning. The nieces were gleefully holding signs saying “She Said Yes!”.

As they all walked to the restaurant little did Taslim know that Minaz had more surprises planner. He had brought together both families for a lunch to surprise her and celebrate this amazing proposal.

From our point of view, the level of thought and planning involved in getting two large families to congregate is what makes this surprise engagement all the more resonant, Minaz knew that Taslim would enjoy having her family involved in her proposal. We can only guess at the number of behind-the-scenes phonecalls and emails Minaz managed to get the whole thing planned and in secret!

Our friends at Gondola Adventures and booked a romantic dinner cruise. After their meal dockside the couple were taken out in a stunning gondola along the canals in Newport beach, with a message in a bottle waiting and a ring in his pocket the scene was set for this amazing proposal.
