They grew up in the same town, went to the same high school and went to the same college. One of his best friends is her cousin and another friend is her best friend’s brother. However, they didn’t meet until after college, finally, at Cocoa Beach through their mutual friends.

A few months passed until they would see each other again, at another mutual friend’s house.

Almost an entire year passed until they saw each other for the third time, and Robert refused to miss this opportunity and mustered up the courage to ask for her number.

It was during the beginning of their relationship that they realized all the missed connections and the weird coincidences that had to happen for them to find each other. With a full gallery of photos capturing the start of a beautiful new chapter together, Clarence and Yani shared how their love story began!

How They Met:

Clarence and Yani met a little over 14 years ago at a small company they both worked for.

Clarence had been put in charge of training her up for a new job. Upon meeting her, he thought she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, and was even more impressed as he got to know her and realized she had an amazing personality to match! The two became close friends during the training and continued to get to know each other.

Clarence and Yani both admired each other greatly. Clarence was in aw of her ambition and loyalty, and she was attracted to his kind and respectful nature.

They knew they shared a true connection, but the timing was just never quite right for them to be together. When he was single, she was in a relationship, and when he was single, he wasn’t.

Being an honest person and a good friend, when things started to go wrong in Clarence’s relationship, she did her best to advise him on how to fix it.

“The more Yani pushed me in that direction, the more and more I drew closer to her and realized that she had stolen my heart without even noticing it,” said Clarence.

How They Knew:

One night, Yani invited Clarence over for dinner. By this time, they both knew that they had feelings for each other that extended beyond friendship. Yani seemed to be a bit sad about something, so to cheer her up Yani invited her to dance when he heard a Luther Vandross song begin to play.

No one had ever asked Yani to “just dance,” and as she slow danced in the middle of her living room to the song on the radio, they both knew that they had found their soul mate.

The New York Marriage Proposal:

After extensive research, Clarence decided Central Park was the most romantic place to propose! Yani and Clarence are New Yorkers, and Yani loves everything NYC. The pair had actually never really visited Central Park, so a walk through the park seemed like the perfect romantic marriage proposal plan that she wouldn’t at all suspect.

“Once I saw the little dock area, I knew that this would be a place we could re-visit and reminisce about how special and romantic our engagement was. The view and scenery there are spectacular!” He revealed.

Then, he set out to have Paparazzi Proposals help him with the planning:

“I gave James my vision and he helped me tweak my ideas due to his many experiences in this matter.   James was very responsive and also very decisive in the advice that he gave which I appreciated greatly. James also recommended more cost effective ways of getting my message across!”

The day of their New York marriage proposal, he told her they were just going for a romantic stroll through the park. When they approached Oak Bridge, she noticed their friends and family standing alongside the walkway, holding up signs with photos of some of their favorite memories they shared together, and a trail of rose petals leading down the path.

When they reached the dock, themusician began to play the very Luther Vandross song that played on the radio they had danced in Yani’s living room!

Tears came to her eyes as Clarence dropped to one knee and proposed with a stunning custom A & O Fine Jewelry engagement ring as our discreet photographer carefully documented each incredible moment!

And thanks to Clarence’s thoughtful proposal plan, family and friends were close enough to watch it unfold and to join the happy couple during their engagement shoot for a few beautiful group photos!

Josh and Taylor met in September of 2012, when they both worked at Best Buy, where Josh worked on the Geek Squad and Taylor in customer service.

The first thing Josh noticed about her was her long, beautiful red hair and perfect smile and Taylor immediately noticed his kind blue eyes. Intrigued, they struck up a conversation and it didn’t take long for them to realize they both had a lot in common, including their sense of humor!

“It didn’t take long to see that our personalities meshed perfectly together,” said Taylor. “The fact that he thought my jokes were funny was also a bonus!” She added

How They Knew:

They more they spent time together, the clearer it became to both of them that they had found that special someone!

Taylor says she knew Josh was The One after only a short while. She recognized in Josh characteristics that she wanted in a future husband.

“It really hit me when I found my ‘Traits of my Soulmate’ list I had written about a year before, and Josh had every single one of the important items on the list!”

Josh says he knew a few months into dating that Taylor was The One.

“She is so perfect in every way!” He said, adding, “We get along so well, and we have so much in common, we always have so much to talk bout!” Josh said.

The New York Marriage Proposal

They had been talking about taking a trip to New York for a long time, so with a vacation planned, Josh saw the perfect opportunity to pop the question! After chatting with one of our proposal experts about the city’s most picturesque spots, and running his proposal plans past a few of their mutual friends, he picked the Top of the Rock as the place to propose.

As they took in the sweeping views of Manhattan, he dropped to one knee and proposed with a sparkling engagement ring from Classic Jewelers in Fargo!

Craig: I proposed here as it is an iconic place which features my favorite movie, Home Alone, and as it’s Christmas there is no better place than under the Rockefeller Christmas tree, even though I can’t ice skate very well and was terrified I would slip whilst getting down on one knee!

How They Met:

Craig: It was the 15th of March 2014 when we met. I was at the gym and happened to bump into an old friend I hadn’t seen for years. We got to talking and he told me he was going on a night out for a coworkers birthday, and asked me if I wanted to come along. The girl who’s birthday party it was happened to be Melanie, my fiancé. She seemed very fun, outgoing, and was easy to get on with.

Melanie: It was love at first sight to be honest. I saw his piercing blue eyes and cheeky smile. We started talking and I really fell in love with his sense of humour.

How They Knew:

Craig: I’m a huge West Ham football fan. For our second date, she surprised me with tickets to see them play!

Melanie: I knew he was the one as we were such similar people, and it seemed like we were just best friends who knew each other our whole lives. 

That Engagement Ring!:

Craig picked out the perfect engagement ring for Melanie at Beaverbrooks in England.

Trevor and Kelsey were visiting from Vancouver, and when they were planning their NYC trip, they talked about making a wish by the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center.  Trevor knew he wanted to propose, and this presented the perfect opportunity to pop the question!  With his idea in mind, he reached out to Paparazzi Proposals to make sure the entire engagement was beautifully photographed to share with friends and family back home. Watch their entire NYC engagement unfold in their proposal slideshow!

We’re here to plan everything out for your engagement, but we know that behind every incredible proposal is a romantic love story!  And Trevor and Kelsey were no exception! They shared the story of how they met, fell in love, and planned the perfect New York holiday marriage proposal!

How They Met:

Kelsey and Trevor met at a music festival on August 8, 2014.  Trevor lived four hours east of Kelsey’s home city of Vancouver and was in town for the performance.  Kelsey was volunteering in the medical tent when Trevor wandered in with an injured friend.  Trevor was mesmerized by her eyes and her smile, and thought she was adorably cute.

“Once he knew his friend was okay he hit on me.  Hard!  I had never been hit on so directly.  It was cute but also intense,” said Kelsey. 

They spent time together throughout the weekend.  Initially overwhelmed by his attraction, Kelsey quickly felt herself falling for his fun-loving, honest, kind heart and his good looks.  Kelsey was intrigued and was still trying to figure him out when they attended the Sunday night headliner: Eminem.

They began to fall for each other as they rapped along in unison to all of the songs, which they both knew! After the concert, Kelsey had to drive back to Vancouver, but Trevor kept in touch via text.

How They Knew:

When Trevor had to return to Vancouver a few weeks later for a wedding, the pair met up for their first official date at a carnival!

They spent the whole weekend together.  Kelsey was able to attend the wedding with him, and it was here, on their fourth date, that they professed their love for each other.

“Even we were in awe of this blissful experience,” said Kelsey.  “People at the wedding were feeding off our love and kept asking how long we had been together.  I kept saying, ‘We just met! I don’t even know him yet!’”

But what they felt was real, and by the end of the weekend they both knew they had found The One.  By Halloween, Kelsey had moved to Trevor’s town to be closer to him!

The New York Surprise Proposal:

After Trevor decided that the Rockefeller tree was the place he wanted to propose, he reached out to Paparazzi Proposals to help him plan and discreetly capture his engagement!

After a horse and carriage ride through Central Park, they walked towards Cherry Hill in Central Park, where a picnic complete with chocolate strawberries, chilled champagne and two dozen cowlilies awaited them.

Milana couldn’t believe how thoughtful Eugene had been!  And, the surprises weren’t over yet!  Smiling, Eugene pointed out the nearby Bow Bridge, and right on cue, a banner unfurled reading, “Milana, I love you.  Will you marry me?”

Eugene pulled off an absolutely perfect proposal, and it got an amazing reaction!  After he popped the question, Milana brought her hands to her face to wipe tears of joy from her eyes before saying, “Yes!!!” And moving in for a kiss!  Passersby on the bridge broke out into applause as he slipped a sparkling Kay Jewelers engagement ring onto her finger.

How They Met:

Eugene and Milana first met at a mutual friend’s housewarming party in July of 2014. 

Though they only exchanged a few words, Eugene was intrigued.  The pair had many mutual friends in common, and kept seeing each other at parties and events but never had a chance to exchange more than a simple “Hey, how are you?”  That is, until Eugene’s birthday this past June.

They struck up a conversation and Eugene felt instantly at ease with her.  He admired her easy-going attitude and fun personality, and wanted to get to know her better, but his shyness got the best of him that night and he didn’t ask her out.

With a little prompting from his friends, he gained enough courage to ask her out, and on June 19th, they went on their first date.

How They Knew:

It became apparent to Eugene as they spent more time together that this was the person he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. 

Eugene said it was an initial instinct that simply grew naturally with time, and in October, he started thinking over creative ways to pop the question!

The Proposal Plan

Eugene knew he wanted a picnic in the park marriage proposal.

He had been trying to plan a picnic all of last summer, but weather kept getting in the way.  Their engagement was the perfect time to give her the romantic picnic they’d been talking about for months!

Tina didn’t suspect anything out of the ordinary, since the Park was one of their favorite date spots.  After a leisurely stroll to Bow Bridge, they stumbled across a gorgeous picnic spread where Cecil popped the question!

We caught up with Tina and Cecil to hear the story behind this beautiful fall marriage proposal!

How did you two meet?

Cecil: It all started in July 2014 with the Facebook message  “Are you a Star Wars fan?”

We had many mutual friends and her Yoda cover photo stuck out to me! I was immediately interested. We were both originally from New York but living in different parts of California at the time. After months of messaging we finally met in New York while visiting family for the Christmas holiday. We decided to meet for coffee at Starbucks.

It was love at first sight for me.  I found myself completely enticed by her as the hour flew by too quickly. I was initially attracted to Tina’s beauty and gorgeous smile. What I really liked about her was that she was a programmer and I knew we would have a lot in common.

When did you know that they were the one?

Cecil:

Her sweet personality, her natural loving and caring instincts had always made me feel special. I knew she was the one the first time she wanted to make dinner for me on May 22nd 2015. We stayed in her apartment and had a dinner and painting night. I had never really painted before but it turned out to be more fun than I thought. It was a simple, fun, laid back Friday night that made me realize I could see myself spending the rest of my life with this woman.

Tina:

I knew right away he was very special to me. Our values and goals aligned perfectly.  There hasn’t been a single day he hasn’t FaceTimed with me! A couple of hours of Facetime always felt like a couple of minutes for me. He always made me feel attractive, special, and I noticed that I started wearing a big smile on my face for no apparent reason.

  I knew I couldn’t pass on this one!

Why did you choose to propose where you did?

We both enjoy the outdoors and had come a couple times to the park on dates so I knew Central Park would be a great place to propose. I had suggestions from friends but I liked the picnic proposal idea better after seeing Paparazzi Proposals’ picnic proposal package on the website, and knew it was the perfect option!

Of course, our photographer discreetly snapped away as Cecil dropped to one knee and presented her with a stunning engagement ring from Vincente Jewelers!  After the initial shock wore off, Cecil introduced our photographer, who joined them for an incredible engagement shoot!

He led Angie from one incredible gesture to the next, starting with a gorgeous skyline helicopter ride to see the greatest city in the world from a bird’s eye view, followed by a trip to the top of the Trade Center.

After running back to where they were staying at the Essex Hotel, he told her he had a special lunch planned.  They headed outside, where he told her to pick a horse and buggy for a ride to where he had a Perfect Picnic arranged to have set up for them, and the ultimate surprise in store: his romantic marriage proposal!

How They Met:

Marc and his fiancé met on match.com and after chatting for a while online, they made plans to meet up in person and see if the initial chemistry translated into something more!

Something told Marc that Angie was special, and he wanted to meet with her right away, but he was leaving for a trip to Cuba. So he asked her out to dinner in advance and as soon as he got back the couple met up for the first time on February 5th, a date Marc has memorized!

Conversation was easy over dinner. They had a similar sense of humor and outlook on life, and the back and forth banter they had online was even better than expected. Marc loved that Angie was so interested in hearing about his trip and looking through the photos he took while he was away, and she was intrigued by his passion for life. After their date, they sat in his car by the beach in their home city of Boca Raton, Florida, watching the waves roll in and feeling relaxed and happy in each other’s company. It was the evening of his 50th birthday, and when the clock struck midnight he got the best gift he could have asked for— a kiss from his future wife!

How They Knew

Marc knew that he had met someone truly unique.

He had never been this intrigued by someone he just met, and he wasted no time— asking her out on a second date while they were still on their first.

The couple says they knew almost immediately that they had found The One. Their initial feelings only grew as they spent more time together!

The Proposal

Marc wanted to propose, and an invitation to New Jersey for a Bar Mitzvah presented the perfect opportunity.

He planned for a few extra days for them to stay in New York, and set about coming up with his full day, absolutely incredible proposal plan.

After giving Angie a romantic card in the horse and carriage promising he would make all her dreams come true, the pair stepped out onto Cherry Hill in Central Park. When they walked up to the picnic, she was surprised by the thoughtful gesture and stood in the picture-perfect spot for our photographer to capture her reaction— Marc knew it was the perfect moment, and popped the question with a gorgeous engagement ring from Diamonds East International in Boca Raton, Florida.

Her answer: a resounding, “Yes!” Through laughter and tears of joy.

The pair paused for a champagne toast before Marc introduced our photographer, who joined them for a gorgeous post-proposal portrait session.

And to top off an incredible proposal day, “We had 8th row center seats to Jersey Boys!” Said Marc, adding, “and I got her a great take-home token from the show: her own real live Jersey Boy, me!”

Guy Meets Girl

My fiancé, Chrissy, and I met on September 7, 2013.

We were both a day long conference in New Jersey called “The One Conference.” The friends I had came with had left early and I decided to stay until the end because another friend of mine, Sandeep, drove in alone and could’ve used a partner on the ride back. I didn’t know too many people so I was just waiting on the side for him as he was chatting with a lot of old friends. I started to get bored and lose my patience so I decided to approach his conversation to try and move things along. He happened to be talking to Chrissy, who was a friend from their college years at St. John’s University. I had known her face I think from mutual friends and she recognized me partially also. But nothing more. He introduced us briefly, and we parted ways. Not your fairy tale love at first sight. 

Shortly after, Chrissy sent me a Facebook friend request. And we learned a little more about each other, our senses of humor, and what we valued based on our Facebook profiles. We led each other to laugh a little more and think a little more based on the things we posted until she messaged me online, exactly one month later, on October 7th, 2013. A simple “Yo Whatsup?” From there we just joked and talked playfully and we’re always able to keep conversations going and make each other laugh right from day 1. Never a moment where things got dull or awkward or boring. We talked online for awhile until we moved onto phone conversations and picked up right where left off teaching each other things, and learning from each other, making jokes and laughing so hard together. She mentioned a cool bar with old school arcade games as we were talking and I suggested we go check it out sometime, and that was our fist date was also a month later on November 7th, at Barcade in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. 

 We played some classic arcade games from our childhood (I beat her in Frogger) and we just joked and laughed and had a couple drinks. I took her to a nearby pizzeria for pizza which she didn’t eat- and I was left to eat a slice by myself. 

 We went on more dates after that and our 3rd date, November 21,  was our longest lasting nearly 9 hours beginning with brunch at Clinton Bake Shop which then moved to the Highline to Chelsea Market to Miyamoto. This was where we shared our first kiss- on the Highline. 

Falling in Love

We continued to just have so much fun together in any and every situation we were in.

We could laugh and joke and be sarcastic and make everything light and fun and silly. But at the same time we were both working hard and had our ambitions. I was in my residency at Stony Brook University Hospital and she was a working full time PA who was also working towards her Masters in Public Health. She gave a lot of effort and time and thought in her work, her studies, her church, and in helping out anybody who needed it. She played a big role in taking care of her mother after her father passed away and doing things that her family needed from her despite being the youngest and busiest in the family. She shown her true character as someone who is unselfish, strong, nurturing, generous, hardworking, and reliable while still maintaining the ability remain fun and silly and the time to dedicate to us and our budding relationship. 

   As if these things didn’t make me fall in love with her from the start, I knew she was the one when my schedule became incredibly hectic between needing to travel apply for future fellowships, travel all over the country for work interviews, move to Washington D.C. for a month, continue to work nights and weekends in the hospital for multiple months without a break, finishing up research projects, and studying for boards. While I was going through one of the toughest moments in my career, all she showed my was incredible support above anything I’ve ever known, and would always put my best interests and needs high on her priority list, usually above her own. She would come and study in the library with me, and send me messages to encourage me and keep me focused, and always pushed me towards my dreams and goals even if that made things harder for her. I knew I wanted to go through every problem in my life with a woman like that.

The New York Proposal

I chose the Highline as our proposal spot because it’s a beautiful park and it is where we had our first kiss.

I chose to have a guitar set up and waiting for us so that I could pick it up and play her some of the songs that mean a lot to us and our relationship and songs that remind me of how important she is to me. The first part of our proposal day included visiting her father’s grave so we could include him in our special day and then we met some friends and family afterwards to celebrate. I came up with the idea. A couple of friends helped me secure a venue for the families and friends to meet and another helped me figure out what style of ring she wanted.

How They Met:

Ian opted for our Proposal Photography package, and added on a post-proposal portrait session.

The stars aligned to bring this couple together!  Ian was visiting New York City from Toronto with his brothers and cousins for the long 4th of July weekend.  The group decided to spend the night in style, getting a table at the Hudson Terrace night club and restaurant.

Standing atop a neighboring table was Natasha.

She glanced over and caught his gaze before she was asked to step down from the tabletop.

Once she was back on ground level, they pair ended up standing with their backs to one another and Ian could see that she was uncomfortable as she was jostled around in the busy crowd.  So, he moved to redirect the crowd to keep them from bumping into her.

Natasha noticed his act of kindness and turned around to thank him.  She was impressed his good looks and the small silver cross he wore around his neck— faith is important to both of them, and the necklace was an instant draw!

After their initial connection, they were encouraged by family and friends to continue chatting, and struck up an easy conversation that lasted the whole evening.

Their personalities, interests and values blended together seamlessly. 

Right away, Ian knew he had found someone special and within a few weeks of dating he felt that Natasha was The One, and as he got to know he better he became reassured that they were meant to be together, forever!

The Ring:

Ian purchased her gorgeous ring at Mahtani Jewelers

The Proposal:

Ian took it back to where it all began by choosing the spot for their first date as the location of their marriage proposal! The scenic Pier A in Hoboken boasts stunning views of the Manhattan skyline–which also made it a perfect backdrop for some absolutely stunning surprise engagement photography.

Friends and family helped him coordinate getting Natasha to the proposal location while keeping the whole plan a secret!  And of course, Paparazzi Proposals helped him finalize the picture-perfect spot, and discreetly photographed Natasha’s reaction when he dropped to one knee!

On a recent trip to NYC from Mexico city, over a gorgeous picnic, he presented her with another paper crane, this time with a stunning engagement ring nestled between its blue wings!

We caught up with Omar and Eli to hear the story behind Omar’s creative engagement!  They shared their touching love story with us— from the first time they met in college, to that incredible moment she said, “Yes!”

1. How and when did you guys meet?

Omar: Back in 2008, I had a job at the promotion and public relations department of the university we both studied in, and I noticed Eli since the first time she walked into our office to apply for an internship. When she got in, I told my colleagues that I wanted her on my team, and I even set up a short trip to a college fair in the hopes of getting to know her better. Sadly, she fell asleep the whole way on that trip and I ended up chatting with the driver instead.

Eli: I knew, as everybody else, that Omar was interested, but I had a boyfriend and it was an on and on-and-off relationship. Still, we had a lot of chemistry from the start and we grew quite close. He did all sorts of things to be closer to me, like ask me out to dance in our boss’s wedding (something we both need practice in to this day), exchange Secret Santa names so he would get to give me a gift at the Christmas gift swap, and he even used his employee vouchers to buy me lunch a few times. He was very careful not to get too enthusiastic as to scare me away or get friend-zoned, and we remained distant but cherished friends for four years, even though Omar wasn’t working at the university anymore for most of that time.

Omar: In 2012, I got word that finally the other guy was out of the picture, so I looked for a way to approach Eli again. We started going out very casually in May. In July I invited her to a concert, where we had our first kiss, and in August I asked her to be my girlfriend. We had just finished a 5k race and I took out a cardboard medicine box from my pocket. I handed it to Eli and told her to take one ’cause it would make her feel better. Instead, there was an origami crane that I had made, and on its wings it said “Will you be my girlfriend?”

Eli: Cranes have had an ever-growing role in our relationship. The crane is a very mystical and holy creature in Japanese culture, believed to live up to 1,000 years. They are also symbols of peace and luck. I have true love, incredible luck, my own silver jewelry set featuring cranes, a pair of crane earrings made from hand-painted Japanese origami paper, and a beautiful ring on my hand! Now for the wedding, Omar is hand-making one thousand paper cranes, in accordance to a legend that says that anyone who folds one thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish. The legend even says I can’t help him, but he’s already got 250. This is a gift that complements our engagement and shows our desire to make our love last forever.

2. What was the first thing that attracted you to one another?

Eli: For me it was his eyes and his sense of humor. He has very deep, expressive, soulful eyes, and he was famous at the office for his one-liners.

Omar: I was very attracted to Eli’s beautiful light brown eyes, and to her cheerful, easygoing and laid-back attitude. And I can’t deny that to me she just looked absolutely gorgeous from the start!

3. When did you know that they were the one?

Eli: It so happens that the first time that Omar came to my house to meet my parents we ordered Chinese food, and when we opened our fortune cookies there was no fortune on mine. Omar’s cookie, on the other hand, had two fortunes, so he gave me one. It says: “You will know true love and peace of heart.” So it was written in the stars, or in the fortune cookie! I still keep that little piece of paper. Truly, that day I saw him chatting with my parents and I thought he fit in seamlessly. Even though we watched an awful movie I felt so content and at ease with him, that I distinctly remember that, as we were eating, I thought “I really like this man.”

Omar: I think it happened very early on in our relationship. As I got to know her better and I learned how much she likes to help others, how concerned she is for a total stranger’s well-being (for example, going out of her way to feed homeless people), I was amazed by her good heart. I felt that she loved me deeply and honestly and I knew that that this was the woman I wanted by my side for the rest of my life.

4. Why did you choose to propose where you did?

Omar: Because we had already enjoyed picnics, and I know that what she loves the most is having private, laid-back dates, the sort of outings where you have the chance to talk, enjoy a view and just hold each other. As I researched further and saw the beautiful and romantic sceneries such as Bow Bridge and Cherry Hill, I knew that Central Park was the place.

5. Did anyone help you plan the proposal?

Omar: Nobody else. I only relied on Paparazzi Proposals!

6. Where did you purchase the ring?

Omar: Many months before I proposed, I bought the ring at a big wholesaler in San Francisco. I was just waiting for the right occasion, but I knew she was the one, so I kept the ring for over a year!

Omar had the perfect romantic New York evening planned!  After the Paparazzi Proposals cameras stopped rolling, the pair went on to see Phantom of the Opera on Broadway before heading to dinner at a French restaurant he had carefully selected for the occasion!

He had one more surprise in store: a late-night trip to the top of the Empire State Building, to take in the view of the city lights by night!   They commemorated the trip by purchasing their first Christmas ornament as a newly engaged couple, to hang on the tree during the holidays!

Their Story:

Javier and Marimar met eight years ago and shared an instant connection.
