How Did You Guys Meet?

Maeve and I first met just after finishing our third year at the University of Georgia. Almost everyone had already left town for summer, but a mutual friend convinced each of us to stay and go out one night so we could be introduced. We met out on the town and spent the rest of the night talking over drinks and pizza. Soon after, we parted ways to return home for the summer, and as Maeve likes to point out, I never called her. However, things quickly picked back up when we returned in the fall, and we formally went on our first date.

What First Attracted You To The Other?

I was instantly attracted to Maeve’s intelligence and drive, but was equally struck by how down to earth and engaging she was.

I thought Matt looked adorable in his glasses, and was impressed by his mature demeanor. The passion and drive with which he approached life attracted me even more.

Why Did You Choose This Location To Proposal?

DC has always been a special place to both Maeve and I; so I knew I wanted to do it in town. I knew Meridian Hill Park would be beautiful and provide some privacy- both things I wanted for our engagement. We actually do go on picnics from time to time, so I knew using it as a cover wouldn’t arouse any suspicion!

The weather may be cooling down, but proposal season in Los Angeles is just heating up.  Looking a spot perfect for your surprise engagement photographs? These photogenic proposal spots will have you putting a ring on it! If you want more ideas, just check out our Los Angeles page.

Point Dume

Located at the edge of the Malibu Canyon, Point Dume offers stunning views of the Pacific Ocean below.  The brief hike from the beach to the summit of the cliff is well worth it:  on one side, there’s a field of wild, blooming yellow daisies, and to the other, a hidden cove only viewable from the outlook point.  Point Dume is also known as the perfect spot to catch a glimpse of whales and dolphins– so they may make a surprise appearance at your engagement!  Stop by the Sunset Restaurant and Bar for cocktails with a view, either before or after you pop the question.  Or, if you’d rather have your entire proposal take place outdoors, arrange for a picnic blanket with a dozen roses and your favorite champagne to be waiting for the two of you either on the shore or at the summit.

Leo Carillo

The waves here make it a favorite for surfers, but it’s the incredible rock formations that make this beach perfect for surprise engagement photography.  Whether the two of you have plans to camp nearby, or are visiting for a stroll on the scenic shores, this location is a star proposal spot.

Surfrider Beach

If the two of you are all about sun, sand and surf, this could be the perfect spot for you.  The shoreline itself is small, but there is a pier nearby and surfers always riding the waves.  Before or after you pop the question, perhaps arrange for a tour (and incredible photography!) at the nearby historic Adamson House and Malibu Lagoon Museum.  The April through October, the National Park’s beachfront grounds are open for bookings and special events.

Santa Monica State Beach

This is the perfect location for anyone visiting from out of town.  Miles of sand and coastline stretch in either direction, and iconic little blue Lifeguard stations dot the panoramic view.  But the best part about this stretch of beach is its proximity to downtown Santa Monica.  Have a world-class dinner at the Third Street Promenade before wandering down to the Santa Monica Pier to propose, like Nathan did!

Venice Beach

This iconic beach’s funky charm draws crowds from all over the country!  This beach draws its name from the manmade canals that surround the shorefront, constructed in 1905 to imitate the Italian city of the same name.  It serves as the backdrop for countless movies and music videos– so why not your proposal as well?  Rent some rollerblades and skate down the colorful walkway to take in the street art and interesting store fronts, pausing at the point of your choosing to pop the question!

Paradise Cove

This Malibu gem is nestled into a cozy cove and lined by palm trees.   Home to the Paradise Cove Cafe, this stretch of shore has lounge chairs set up right on the beach– so you can sip a cocktail with your toes in the sand.  Malibu locals frequent the quaint hang out, which means that celeb sightings are not uncommon.  Give your special someone the star treatment by surprising them with a proposal as the sun sets over the Pacific.

El Matador

Another beach notable for its incredible caves and rock formations, this quiet beach is located at the end of a long dirt road.  Be prepared to walk down a set of stairs, and to take in the incredible views!  Once you’ve reached a quiet section of shore, drop down to one knee and pop the question before walking through incredible rock formations for a stunning engagement shoot!

How They Met:

Patrick and Gabriella met while both attending the University of Rhode Island. With a large group of mutual friends in common, the two clicked from the start and quickly realized how much they shared in common.

How They Knew They Had Met “The One”

Gabriella first realized Patrick was the one when once they began talking about the future and what each wanted. Their wants, hopes and dreams, however far-fetched or silly, were almost identical. She also loved how much fun they would have on the simplest of dates. As he stood by and supporting her during her most vulnerable times, it only strengthened the feeling that she had found the man she was destined to be with!

Patrick’s revelation came after the first year they started dating. He admitted, that before they met he seemed to lack motivation and direction in his life. However, as their relationship progressed and started to blossom, he suddenly found himself working harder than he ever has. The more he did so, the more Gabriella supported and pushed him. When he realized she was just as caring and supportive when he would fall, he knew this was the woman he wished to spend the rest of his life with.

Why Did You Choose This Location To Propose?

We chose New York because it has always been an important place to both of us. We visit often, and have always talked about how much we would love to someday live here. As it turns out, we both had privately dreamt about someday being a part of this city before we even met! The Brooklyn Heights Promenade was a perfect spot to propose as it provides a stunning view of the city, a place close to both of our hearts. Getting engaged somewhere so special to both of us really felt right.

Francisco chose our gondola ride package for his romantic proposal.  When the time was just right, the gondolier slowed the boat to a stop.  Francisco knelt down on one knee, and presented Priscilla with another Robbins Brothers stunner!

A Walk Down Memory Lane in Seattle

Paul and Gagan went on a walk, pausing at a picnic table to sit and chat.  But Paul had a surprise in mind!  When Gagan turned around, she saw chalkboard.  Written on it were memories and landmark dates of their relationship.  The last line had the date of that day, with the phrase “And then, she said….”  After wiping away tears of joy, Gagan wrote, “Yes!” And Paul placed a delicate rose gold ring on her finger.

On November 2^nd of this past year, Oray and Julia were preparing to go on their first date.

Both Oray and Julia had had a long series of bad dates and poor experiences by the time they were set to meet each other.  Each of them had separately vowed that this would be their last date before they both abandoned the quest to find that person to spend the rest of their lives with.

Little did they know, they would fall in love instantly on that first date.  Oray says he knew Julia was The One from the moment he met her.  Her kind, caring nature shone through and immediately made clear to him that this was the woman he had been looking for, the partner he wanted to share the rest of his journey with.

“Every day since then has just convinced us more that we were meant to be together,” said Oray.

Knowing they wanted to be together, the couple quickly began to discuss plans for the future.   They originally agreed to wait for a full year from the date that they had met in order to get engaged, but Oray wanted to completely surprise his love by proposing earlier than expected.

So, 7 months into his whirlwind romance with Julia, he reached out to her daughters for advice. He wanted them to be part of the whole process, and knew they’d help him dream up exactly the experience that Julia wanted.

They set about helping him pick a ring that suited her style, and meaningful date—Julia’s mother’s birthday.

To make sure their mother had her dream proposal, complete photos to document the couple’s beautiful love story, her daughters immediately referred Oray to Paparazzi Proposals.

“One daughter sent me the link to Paparazzi Proposals, and I was off to the races!” Oray said.  “They helped me pick the spot and with all the planning.  The Top of the Rock could not have been a better spot!  The views were incredible.”

And so, on June 6th, with the sun shining and with sweeping, photogenic views of all of Manhattan in the background, Oray dropped to one knee and presented Julia with a stunning ring from Kay Jewelers.

Truly surprised and beaming with happiness, she accepted! And our sneaky snapper was there to capture every gorgeous moment of their proposal.  Now, the couple has yet another way to include Julia’s daughters in the magical moment—stunning photographs to commemorate another chapter in their true love story.

He paused in the serene silence of a waterfront Gazebo, knelt down on one knee, and presented Saharnaz with a sparkling custom ring from Adiamor Jewelers.

As he placed the ring on her hand, Saharnaz could barely contain her joy– and Paparazzi Proposals was there to capture their perfect moment.

But all happy endings have beginnings too!  For Sultan and Saharnaz, their fairytale started in their college cafeteria in January of 2008.  A mutual friend insisted that the two would be perfect for each other and invited them both to lunch.

“After meeting, we ended up being in the same Western Civilization class,” said Saharnaz. “And it turns out after all, that Layla–my childhood friend–was absolutely right!”

For Sultan, it was love at first sight.  Saharnaz’s bright smile and bubbly personality won him over.  He began casually courting her, walking her to class and doing everything he could to make her smile, dancing in the hallways and cracking jokes.

It worked–Saharnaz said that Sultan’s ability to make her laugh hysterically that had her falling for him.

Sultan knew Saharnaz was The One from the first day they talked.

“It really isn’t easy to describe it in words, but it’s a feeling of when you know, you know!” He said.

His initial instincts were confirmed as Saharnaz stood by him, through good times and bad.  Saharnaz said their romance was rocky in the beginning, but after reconnecting in June 2009, she knew the moment she saw him that she never wanted to be apart from him again.

As their love grew, Sultan began planning an amazing proposal.  Both Saharnaz and Sultan loved Old Town Alexandria, and the couple had shared many romantic dates there, so Sultan decided it would be the perfect location to pop the question.  He enlisted Saharnaz’s friends to plan a “girls night out” so he could go and ask her parents for her hand in marriage, and contacted Paparazzi Proposals to capture the magic.

However, what’s even more special is their love story.

Proposing to her meant so much to Mitchell. So he hired Paparazzi Proposals to provide surprise engagement photography and capture this special once in a lifetime moment to cherish forever!

They met a little under 2 years ago.  Mitchell is a sober member of AA and director of a 40 bed drug treatment facility. One day he received a call from a friend asking if he would accept a new patient. After the friend explained how special of a person this young lady was, Mitchell agreed to give her an opportunity.

That’s when he met Bryann.  Within a week of moving in she was declaring “I am going to marry Mitch Brown!”  In the months that followed, she remained sober and became one of the more “responsible” clients of the facility. As time passed, they became very close friends. He was forced to fly to NYC for a family emergency and needed someone to step in and help with drug testing the residents in his absence.  Bree not only accepted that challenge, she handled her responsibilities in a capacity Mitch never expected.  Learning this upon his return, her offered her a  job.  She accepted, and still insisted she would one day marry Mitch!

Months later, as his recovery continued to progress, he finally felt he is was in position to be the type of man she truly deserved. he asked her out and the rest as they say, is history. It’s amazing how the universe conspired to bring two people, one troubled and in pain, together in a way that they could help support and lift each other up with love.

The spot he chose to propose was equally special.  It just so happened to be the exact spot in Washington Square Park where his mother and father met 50 years ago.  This spot had such a special meaning to them, it was the perfect place to accept Bree into their family. It doesn’t get much better than this!

He started by developing an elaborate engagement plan that included a fake reality web series, a full camera crew and production team, along with  hair & makeup artists! He effectively convinced her that her and her friends would be featured in the filming of a new web series playfully entitled, “You Have No Idea.” As a full film and production crew showed up, she literally had NO idea what was really about to happen.

But he didn’t stop there! Before they even made it to the big “taping,” Brian had arranged multiple stops for her at several spots near and dear to them as a couple. Once her unofficial “tour” was down, the real magic began as she made it to the location at which they would be “filming”.
