How They Met:

Patrick and Gabriella met while both attending the University of Rhode Island. With a large group of mutual friends in common, the two clicked from the start and quickly realized how much they shared in common.

How They Knew They Had Met “The One”

Gabriella first realized Patrick was the one when once they began talking about the future and what each wanted. Their wants, hopes and dreams, however far-fetched or silly, were almost identical. She also loved how much fun they would have on the simplest of dates. As he stood by and supporting her during her most vulnerable times, it only strengthened the feeling that she had found the man she was destined to be with!

Patrick’s revelation came after the first year they started dating. He admitted, that before they met he seemed to lack motivation and direction in his life. However, as their relationship progressed and started to blossom, he suddenly found himself working harder than he ever has. The more he did so, the more Gabriella supported and pushed him. When he realized she was just as caring and supportive when he would fall, he knew this was the woman he wished to spend the rest of his life with.

Why Did You Choose This Location To Propose?

We chose New York because it has always been an important place to both of us. We visit often, and have always talked about how much we would love to someday live here. As it turns out, we both had privately dreamt about someday being a part of this city before we even met! The Brooklyn Heights Promenade was a perfect spot to propose as it provides a stunning view of the city, a place close to both of our hearts. Getting engaged somewhere so special to both of us really felt right.

After nearly seven years together, Michael was ready to propose and wanted to make the moment perfect.  And as the sun set out over the city, with sweeping views from the roof deck at Hotel East Houston—it was.

Every fairytale ending has a beginning, and for this happy couple, it was during the first week of class at Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas back in 2006.

Caitlin and Michael had two classes together that fall.  As she walked into the room, they locked eyes.  He immediately noticed her stunning smile.  She chose desks next to him in both classes and tried to strike up conversation.  She was drawn in by his compassionate way with others and wanted to get to know him better, but Michael was quiet and didn’t chat very much, so after a few weeks, she changed seats.

That could have been the end of their story, but a year and a half later, in the spring of 2008, they reconnected.  This time, the chemistry was undeniable, and they began the start of a beautiful relationship.

Over the years, Michael’s old injuries from football began to cause him pain.  Caitlin willingly took care of him through it all, never leaving his side.  That was when Michael knew she was The One.

And when Michael met Caitlin’s whole family and immediately fit in, she knew that he was the person she wanted to spend the rest of her life with.

The couple loves traveling together, so Michael felt that a trip to New York City would provide the perfect opportunity to pop the question.  He also knew that Caitlin loved the idea of a rooftop wedding, and decided that a skyline engagement setting would be a great start to their journey to the altar.  He knew taking his small town girl to the big city to propose was going to be a memorable, cherished moment and hired Paparazzi Proposals to capture their proposal with surprise engagement photography.

On November 2^nd of this past year, Oray and Julia were preparing to go on their first date.

Both Oray and Julia had had a long series of bad dates and poor experiences by the time they were set to meet each other.  Each of them had separately vowed that this would be their last date before they both abandoned the quest to find that person to spend the rest of their lives with.

Little did they know, they would fall in love instantly on that first date.  Oray says he knew Julia was The One from the moment he met her.  Her kind, caring nature shone through and immediately made clear to him that this was the woman he had been looking for, the partner he wanted to share the rest of his journey with.

“Every day since then has just convinced us more that we were meant to be together,” said Oray.

Knowing they wanted to be together, the couple quickly began to discuss plans for the future.   They originally agreed to wait for a full year from the date that they had met in order to get engaged, but Oray wanted to completely surprise his love by proposing earlier than expected.

So, 7 months into his whirlwind romance with Julia, he reached out to her daughters for advice. He wanted them to be part of the whole process, and knew they’d help him dream up exactly the experience that Julia wanted.

They set about helping him pick a ring that suited her style, and meaningful date—Julia’s mother’s birthday.

To make sure their mother had her dream proposal, complete photos to document the couple’s beautiful love story, her daughters immediately referred Oray to Paparazzi Proposals.

“One daughter sent me the link to Paparazzi Proposals, and I was off to the races!” Oray said.  “They helped me pick the spot and with all the planning.  The Top of the Rock could not have been a better spot!  The views were incredible.”

And so, on June 6th, with the sun shining and with sweeping, photogenic views of all of Manhattan in the background, Oray dropped to one knee and presented Julia with a stunning ring from Kay Jewelers.

Truly surprised and beaming with happiness, she accepted! And our sneaky snapper was there to capture every gorgeous moment of their proposal.  Now, the couple has yet another way to include Julia’s daughters in the magical moment—stunning photographs to commemorate another chapter in their true love story.

Working with Paparazzi Proposals, Bryan planned everything to be absolutely perfect.  After the couple spent a few days exploring all that New York has to offer, he surprised Becca with a carriage ride.  They took in the gorgeous scenery as the carriage rolled along, finally stopping to admire the iconic Bethesda Fountain.  As Becca took in the amazing views, Bryan dropped to one knee inside the carriage!  When she turned around, he presented her with a sparkling ring!  And Paparazzi Proposals captured each stunning moment with surprise engagement photography.

Back in 2010, Adam was in his first year of dental school at the University of Pennsylvania.

Jess was discussing a research project in one of Adam’s classes.  As soon as he saw her, he knew she was The One.

Lili and Mike’s proposal story is modern-meets-classic romance.  It began with a dating app and grew with love letters.  The most recent chapter: this stunning sunset rooftop proposal in the Meatpacking District‘s Maritime Hotel Penthouse Terrace Suite.

Tea light candles and a path of rose petals added to the room’s already magical atmosphere.  When Lili got to the room, Mike was waiting for her.  He knelt down on one knee, presented Lili with an absolutely stunning ring from Rubin Trading— and she said yes!

A little over a year ago, Mike and Lili were matched up on a dating app that connected people based on mutual friendships, and immediately struck up an engaging conversation.

Lili asked their mutual friend about Mike, and was advised that he was a great guy and that she should take their relationship to the next level–by meeting with him face to face.

Mike remembers everything about their first date, down to the day, date and location: March 23, 2014, at Crave Fish Bar on 2nd Avenue.  Lili said Mike’s striking blue eyes and kind nature had her falling immediately.  Mike was instantly attracted to her beauty and the way in which she carried herself.

“She presented herself with a refined elegance and just seemed so well put-together,” he said.   “She was very driven in life and with her career.  She had an amazing smile and seemed to have a very kind heart.  She is the total package and everything just felt very natural with us from the start.”

While they didn’t necessarily know right away that they had both found The One, the pivotal moment that let both of them know that their strong connection was growing into a long and lasting love was an epic, month-long trip to Europe for a friends’ wedding that Lili had planned long before meeting Mike.

Shortly before the trip, their relationship had just become “official,” which had them both wondering: would they be missing each other like crazy, or would the spark fizzle out while Lili travelled abroad?

Before leaving, it already seemed like things were becoming more serious. Lili and Mike surprised each other with gifts, and exchanged letters– one to open for each day they were apart from each other.

They said the trip seemed like an eternity for them both.  By the time it was over they were overjoyed to be reunited.

“I’ve never been so happy to see someone as I was when she turned the corner walking out of that airport terminal!” Said Mike, recalling the day she returned.

As their relationship grew, Mike knew he had to plan something as perfect as their love to ask Lili for her hand in marriage.  He settled for the night of Lili’s birthday for the big surprise and set about making it a truly memorable event. He hired professional hair and make up artists from GlamSquad to arrive at Lili’s apartment that afternoon to get her and her two friends dolled up for what Lili thought was just a special celebration. Meanwhile, he and his sister Kellie decorated the room.  He contacted Tao Downtown to deliver a beautiful dinner straight to the rooftop suite, and made reservations at the nearby restaurant Revel, where Lili’s friends and the couple’s immediate family members would join up with the two of them afterwards for a birthday celebration turned mini-engagement party.

It was a lot of work, and not much time, but the evening was perfect– and Paparazzi Proposals captured every moment!

Back in March, Paparazzi Proposals caught the moment when Rahim knelt down on one knee in front of the iconic Central Park fountain and asked Ria for her hand in marriage.  They were so happy with their proposal pics that they invited us back for an encore– this time to shoot their engagement photos!

The joyful couple further documented their New York City love story by choosing the Flatiron building as the backdrop for their engagement photos.

Balloons and bubbles were the name of the game in this playful shoot in Midtown, Manhattan. As the shoot progressed, the two traded in a bouquet of colorful balloons for a bubble gun, and finally an “&” sign to hint at their future titles– Mr. & Mrs.!

Romance was definitely in the air as Rahim spun his fiancée into a retro-style dip.   The couple laughed and embraced as they hailed a cab and made their way to the east side waterfront, one of Ria’s favorite running spots, to continue taking photos.

The same can be said of David and Dena’s relationship! They first met over four years ago when David summoned up the courage to approach her at a party. Sadly, things cooled off after a few dates and they both went their separate ways. However, fate sometimes has a funny way of working out. Years later, after a mutual friend had mentioned the time they dated, they found a way to reconnect. The second time was a charm!

When they reunited, David quickly remembered what had first drawn him to her. Her confidence and sweet smile were infectious. Meanwhile, Dena was also infatuated by his smile, and was enamored with his  piercing blue eyes. To hear both of them tell it, it was right around their third date (of round 2!) when they realized they had each found the person they wanted to spend the rest of their lives with.

Knowing he was ready to propose, David began meticulously planning an elaborate proposal. However, while flying back to New York from a trip they had taken together, he decided he just couldn’t wait any longer. With her head resting on his shoulder and fast asleep, David scrapped his grandiose proposal plans for something more simple and quite possibly even more romantic and memorable. Knowing Fort Tryon Park had some of the most gorgeous scenery and stunning views in all of New York City, he knew this was the perfect place to propose. Yet, he wanted more. So he contacted Paparazzi Proposals for our unique brand of surprise proposal photography. This meant that one of our paparazzi-style photographers would be able to discreetly capture the magical moments leading up to and during his proposal.
