How They Met

Hadlei was a manager at the supplement store at their local gym. Nick noticed her after returning from a church mission in Argentina, and immediately took to Instagram to ‘thoroughly stalk’ her social media, he admitted.

Under the guise of trying to decide on supplements, he contacted her to schedule meeting up at the gym to try some product samples.

The connection was instant, and mutual!

After a brief chat, Hadlei asked him for his phone and saved her number. She suggested they do something soon, and Nick happily agreed!

Nick was instantly attracted to Hadlei’s smile, and drawn in by how she wanted to be part of his life. She was attracted to his smile and build, and immediately impressed by how respectful and gentlemanly he was.

How They Knew

Hadlei insists that she knew from the very beginning that Nick was The One. Her decision to give him her number was the start of something she already knew would be incredible.

When the pair first started dating, Nick was in the middle of preparing for a bodybuilding competition and was impressed with how supportive Hadlei was— which is when he had the first inclination that they shared something special.

“She was always there helping me cook my food and keeping me company,” he gushed. “We got to know each other really well, and day after day, I was more attracted to her!”

A month or two after they started dating, he couldn’t stop thinking about her. They spent much of their time together, and their time apart they spent texting.

“My heart felt different with her!” Nick said, and that is when he knew for certain that he had found The One.

The Proposal

Nick knew Hadlei wanted a ring that was unique, so he worked with a family friend at a private diamond dealer to design the ring from scratch, inspired by antique designs. They kept it a secret and were able to complete it in just a few weeks, right in time for the big moment!

He set about the grand plan. After he had booked the plane tickets, he reached out to his friend, a business travel agency owner, to get a room at the fully booked Loews Coronado Bay Resort. He consulted Hadlei’s friends and her mom to plan a getaway that would be meaningful and special to her. Then, he coordinated with Paparazzi Proposals to determine the perfect plan for popping the question!

So when Andrew was ready to propose, he knew that this was where he wanted it to take place. He told Lilly they were going to watch the sunrise, and while she took in the views he dropped to one knee and presented her with a stunning custom-designed ring from local jeweler Charles Koll!

How They Met

Andrew and Lily first met at the community center they both worked at during the summer of 2008.  He was a lifeguard, and she was working with preschoolers.  Though they attended the same middle and high schools, they never got a chance to know each other well because their schools were so large.

Andrew was entranced the second he was introduced, and asked her out on a date during their first exchange, but Lily initially declined!

“Her hesitation attracted me to her even more,” he gushed.  “After a relentless pursuit of sweet talking and ‘coincidental’ encounters, she finally acquiesced to a date and the rest was history!”

How They Knew

Andrew said he knew when she accepted his invitation to go on that first date that she was the one he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.

“I was giddy with emotion, and they were giving me a hard time about the situation, skeptical whether or not it was going to work out.  Their doubt really had no effect on me as I remember telling them then that she was the one and I would marry her,” he said.

After a few years of dating, Lily was the first one to bring up marriage (“surprisingly,” added Andrew). 

“Although I knew she was the one for me, in typical guy fashion it took me a little extra time for my head to catch up with my heart!”

The Proposal

Andrew purchased his ring two months in advance, and worked with the jeweler to customize it.  He handpicked the main stone, and the band engraved with the first letter of his last name.

He set about making the plans for the big moment, and picked out Kate Sessions park for its unique, happy and wholesome feel, which he knew would be the perfect environment to start their journey together as husband and wife.

Keeping it all a secret from Lily was hard for Andrew, but well worth the wait for the perfect proposal moment!

They came across a blanket laid out on the ground.  Mariachi approached them and began to play.  That’s when Chad dropped to one knee, and presented Sandra with a sparkling engagement ring from Robbins Brothers!

After she said yes, the two embraced and kissed before sharing a dance to the music of the Mariachi.  Our photographer captured every beautiful, genuine moment, so now the couple can commemorate their beautiful engagement with gorgeous photos.

But as we know, every silver-screen worthy ending starts somewhere!  We spoke to Chad and Sandra to see where their love story started.

In the summer of 2005, while hundreds of moviegoers were having their own romantic date nights at the AMC movie theaters in Ontario, CA, two of the cinema’s employees were falling in love.

Sandra was training new hires at the theater, and Chad had just gotten a job there.  When he came in for his first day of training, he was struck by Sandra’s stunning beauty.  Chad knew Sandra was one of a kind, and was awed by her bubbly demeanor and winning smile.

Chad stood out to Sandra because of his outgoing personality.  He spoke his mind and was able to make her laugh instantly.  The two were immediately attracted to each other, but kept a working relationship.

When Chad found out that Sandra would soon be transferred away from his location to Fullerton to manage a theater there, he was devastated. The job that brought them together threatened to separate them for good, and he hadn’t let her know how he felt before she left.  He knew at that moment that she was the one, and vowed that if he ever saw her again he would try his best to convince her to go out on a date with him.

When Sandra came back to work in Ontario for a short time, he got his chance.  He asked her out on a picnic date, and she accepted.  Finally getting the chance to impress Sandra, Chad was nervous—but was able to make the experience beautiful and memorable.

“I knew instantly that he was different from any other guy I had met,” said Sandra.  “He put so much effort and detail into that date; from taking my favorite dessert (keeping coffee ice cream frozen in June is no easy feat!) to finding a beautiful scenic view!” she gushed.

That first date let Sandra know that she had met someone special, and the two continued to build a beautiful romance and friendship over the next 9 years.

San Diego was the place where they shared their first weekend getaway together, as well as where they celebrated their one-year anniversary, so when the time was right for Chad to pop the question, he knew that he wanted the magic moment to be there.
