There are no issues with parking on Dreyfous Drive but there is some weekend joggers and family activities. Certainly not a problem, it’s just to stay a little earlier. Under the structure, the light remains gentle, even on a sunny day, which is optimal for photos.   

The New Orleans Botanical Gardens, with an entrance at 5 Victory Ave, is just a stone’s throw away, and charges an entry fee of $25 for non-residents and $15 for residents.   

It has the potential to be a proposal that feels like it’s straight out of a fairytale. It’s ideal for a simple picnic, or for a more elaborate floral arrangement. We have found that visiting in the late morning or late afternoon works best, because you’ll have both soft, natural light and some intimacy.   

It is, however, closed on Mondays. If you are after a specific area, it is best to call prior. The rose garden and the area with the bamboo have nice soft lighting. 

Audubon Park – The Tree of Life

If you are dreaming of a nature proposal without the hassle of organizing a full production, this spot is for you. The canopy is created by the enormous branches of the tree. You can see and appreciate the awe this tree brings to the park.   Neighborhood streets provide limited parking. Plan to arrive earlier in the day. The branches help a lot with sound. So a musical setup for under the canopy would be great. 

Lake Pontchartrain

The Lakefront along Lake Pontchartrain is perfect if your partner is all for calm and minimalism.   An escape from the city created by open skies and the soft lapping of water. If your loved one enjoys the beautiful skyline, the Virgin Hotels Rooftop is the perfect choice. Sunset is undoubtedly the best time, and of course, the light is great all the way through the evening. 

A small personalized touch like a flower arch or a few lanterns would be perfect. 

A vintage Rolls-Royce is a classic proposal vehicle. Driving down the oak lined streets, find a quiet corner of the French Quarter or Uptown, where you can pop the ring.

1. Arrive before the day you plan to shoot. This ensures that you understand what works. You can analyse the lighting, decide which angles align, and find a place to shoot from that is away from onlookers. 

2. The details are important, but it is better to keep these details minimalistic and straightforward. You do not have to hire a whole production crew for this, a couple of candles and some flowers will do. 

3. Golden hour is the time when the light is at its softest, and that is ideal for photography, so it should not be ignored. Golden hour is either at sunrise or in the late afternoon. A gnol hour time is preferable, and during this time it is also great if there are not too many people, this means that it is not a spectator sport. 

4. Always check the weather outside beforehand. Weather can turn for the worse at any time. 

5. Let go of any unrealistic and idealistic thoughts that you picture in your head. Your significant other will be saying yes to you and not to the scenery around. Hold onto that thought and it will make everything simpler.

How They Met:

David and Jill met at work in their hometown of Buffalo.

“I wish I could tell you we met in some exotic place under the stars, or someplace sexy like the Caribbean, but that’s just not the case here,” David said, comically.  But it was the effort that David put in just to meet Jill that makes their love story romantic, no matter the setting.
The two crossed paths at work, and David noticed her immediately. He thought she was “drop-dead gorgeous,” and wanted to get to know her. He thought about how he could see her again, and reached out to one of his coworkers who worked directly with Jill to get him into some of the meetings they attended together.

Falling in Love:

Every time their paths “crossed,” David struck up conversation and turned on the charm.

Jill was impressed that he was able to make her laugh. She ultimately agreed to go on a date with him, despite their mutual concern about dating someone they worked with.
“Neither one of us could say no!” He said. “Something just drew us to each other.”
On their first date, conversation was easy. They spoke all night, with Jill revealing at one point that she thought she was never going to get married. David immediately thought he was going to change her mind. During that meal, he already had decided that one day, he would ask Jill to marry him.

But that wasn’t the only surprise he had planned for the evening!

As the couple took in the breathtaking views of the Lower East Side and beyond, Alex turned to Margaret, dropped to one knee, and presented her with a gorgeous ring.  With both the Chrysler Building and the Empire State Building serving as the backdrop, Margaret said yes!

She could barely contain her joy as Alex placed the ring on her hand.  The two shared a toast to celebrate the joyous occasion– and Paparazzi Proposals was there to capture each magical moment.

The weather and scenery of Central Park? Perfect. The surprise picnic from our friends at Perfect Picnic NYC? Splendid. Oh, and the ring? Absolutely flawless!

Chris hit a home run with this classic, romantic proposal. After taking a stroll through the park, they came upon a picnic blanket complete with flowers, food and champagne. As they sat down to enjoy themselves, Jenna had no idea this wasn’t the only surprise he had up his sleeve. As he began to tell her how much she meant to him, he got onto one knee, pulled out a gorgeous ring and proposed! After the shock wore off, she said “YES!”

However, those weren’t the only surprises. Chris had also contacted Paparazzi Proposals to arrange for our unique style of proposal photography to capture every second before, during and after the big moment. Little did she know that one of our paparazzi-style photographers was secretly snapping pictures as they strolled through the park and settled down to enjoy lunch. So Shawn thought long and hard about how to make his proposal creative and something that Sanna would not soon forget.

Knowing Sanna loved going to the aquarium, a place she knew he wasn’t necessarily crazy about, Shawn knew this would make for the perfect setting in which to completely surprise her with his proposal.

Choosing somewhere that has special meaning to your partner is a surefire way to make the moment you pop the question both romantic and memorable.

As he trudged along in the aquarium, Sanna definitely had NO idea of what was about to come! Before we show you their enchanting engagement moment at Chicago’s iconic Shedd Aquarium, here’s a bit of their love story…

They were first introduced by Shawn’s cousin, who just so happens to also be Sanna’s best friend, on Facebook. Now that’s what we call modern romance! From that moment on, Shawn ardently pursued Sanna, and their Facebook flirting slowly shifted to texting and talking on the phone. A month later, they went on their first date. Shawn was instantly smitten with how beautiful and charming she was. Sunna loved how smart and funny he was. The rest, as they say, is history!

After several months of dating, Sanna privately thought she had finally found “the one.” Meanwhile, Shawn had already bought the domain for their wedding website and began engagement ring shopping!

Sanna’s love of the aquarium wasn’t Shawn’s only reason for picking it as the place where he’d pop the question. He also knew it had an amazing view of downtown Chicago, which would make for the perfect backdrop for his proposal photographs, secretly taken by Paparazzi Proposals! Our sneaky snapper was perfectly positioned to capture the seconds before, during and after his romantic proposal.
