The Vessel at Hudson Yards is more like an art sculpture that looks like it is straight out of modern art. One tip about proposing is to propose on the second or third tier, rather than on level one. The stairs’ symmetry provides an incredible background design to wide-angle proposal shots, particularly during those minutes after sunset when lights start to radiate brightly. Stopping at the perfect spot to propose with the New York City skyline behind them, Kevin dropped to one knee to ask Ashley for forever. Even another couple taking a selfie behind Ashley couldn’t ruin their romantic moment.

Ashley was completely surprised!

After she said yes to her Brooklyn Bridge proposal, the now engaged couple went around for a Brooklyn Bridge engagement photo shoot.

Our New York proposal photographer captured their love with the iconic bridge and skyline behind them. They stopped at one of the most popular locations of the Brooklyn Bridge too.

Jeff reached out to us to plan a romantic picnic engagement in Central Park.

While enjoying a romantic stroll in the park with his partner, they stumbled upon our classic picnic, complete with blanket, a bottle of chilled Prosecco, charcuterie and cheese platter. His partner was completely surprised and wondered how it all got setup. Little did she know, it was only the beginning of their special day.

As his partner admired the picnic, Jeff took out one more surprise from his pocket: a diamond ring! She turned around to find him down on one knee, asking the question that she has been waiting for: Will you marry me?

Of course, she said YES! Our sneaky photographer was at a distance capturing every moment with the stunning Bow Bridge in the background.

He revealed himself after for the last surprise: an impromptu portrait session around the park.

It was a day that neither of them will every forget.

How and when did you guys meet?

“The old fashioned way… the internet on February 23, 2019. Our first date was in February at Gloria’s in Addison, TX.

What was the first thing that attracted you to one another?

“Lisa’s eyes & Randy’s eyes of course, but really – we started with a handful of text messages that lead into a conversation, lasting more than 3 hours. It went from very personal and deep, to laughter about a gamut of things. We’ve continued to be able to talk about all things all the time – it’s intimate and comforting.”

When did you know that they were the one?

“Lisa knew on Day 28 (3/22/19) & Randy on Day 7 (3/1/19). We were engaged on day 118 – When you know you know.”

Why did you choose to propose where you did?
“The trip to NYC was initially a surprise concert for Lisa; but Central Park had the busyness and quiet space that is our lives. I knew I want to propose in NYC. I thought rooftop, helicopter, at a restaurant, Time Square ,in front of Tiffany’s at the Brooklyn Bridge but all of those where about me. Central Park was about her we love to walk and talk love being outdoors. It provided the prefect spot to propose to the prefect woman. Where it was just about us yet lots of things happening around us.”

The surprise did not stop there, as the newly-engaged couple posed for a beautiful engagement portrait session after.

We also had a chance to speak with Chris, who shared with us how they met, and, inevitable, fell in love. From long distance to being together in New York City, with the skyline serving as the ultimate backdrop.

We first met through work back in 2015. We were both living and working in Canada up until October 2015, when I accepted a position in Bermuda. A couple days before shipping off to Bermuda for a 20 month work contract, we both learned that we liked each other, and so decided to give long-distance dating a shot. We’ve been together ever since.

We were initially just friends while we worked together.We got along so well and loved each other’s company because we had similar personalities and shared the same humor (dry). I knew she was the one within 3 months of dating – she’s gorgeous, patient, and above-all, very funny. It didn’t take long for me to realize she was a keeper.

We both moved to Connecticut in 2017 for really one overriding reason – our love for the city of New York and the Yankees. We spend a lot of our weekends in NYC, and our favorite spot in the entire city is Dumbo/Brooklyn Bridge Park. We find it absolutely gorgeous every time we walk this area. It was a no-brainer in my mind to choose Brooklyn Bridge Park as our proposal spot.

I knew exactly where and when to propose (i.e. Brooklyn Bridge park, our favorite spot ever, and at dusk, to capture Manhattan skyline perfectly)
