Joel and Sara met in a connect group through Fellowship Church on Valentines Day of last year, 2015.

Despite how much she currently gripes about it, Sara was initially drawn to his “awesome” beard. Joel thought she was the most beautiful person in the room and after their initial conversation, it was obvious they had a connection.

After about three months of dating, Sarah knew he was the one.

“I told him that I loved him, and I knew that I did, because I really couldn’t picture life without him.”

Joel knew she was the one around the same time, but was more hesitant to admit he loved her because of the short amount of time they had been dating. However, he thought it was obvious they were meant to be together from the beginning.

On a perfect day, Joel planned a picture-perfect proposal over a gondola ride in Dallas, with our sneaky photographer discreetly capturing every moment!

How They Met:

Josh and Danielle were destined to be together.

The happy couple grew up just across the highway from each other in Plano, Texas, but first met each other halfway around the world in Madrid in August of 2008.

They were both studying abroad and had signed up for an excursion to the coastal island Minorca. In the airport, Josh noticed a cute, petite girl in the group and struck up conversation.

They quickly realized they were from the same hometown, and hit it off immediately. The next day, Danielle asked to be his kayaking buddy.

He was instantly attracted to how athletic and open-minded she is, and she was attracted to his sense of humor and his ability to get along with everyone.

They continued to spend time together, going on adventures. Two weeks later, while they were hiking near Madrid, Josh kissed her for the first time.

They’ve been inseparable ever since.

Throughout the rest of the semester, they continued to travel together to other countries, including Portugal, the Czech Republic and Morocco.

When they were back home and back to reality, they realized the connection they had made abroad outlasted their travels.

“We decided we couldn’t be without each other and started officially dating in April of 2009.”

How They Knew:

Their relationship was long distance while the pair completed their undergraduate degrees.

While they were in school, Danielle was only able to visit a few times. Josh already knew she was The One, but his feelings were confirmed when his friends told him they felt they knew Danielle after only meeting her briefly.

Later in the relationship, Josh was in Thailand and Danielle went to visit. He had planned an entire week’s worth of romantic activities, including a canal tour, a rooftop hotel dinner and a few nights’ stay at a beautiful beach resort. But Danielle’s initial feelings that she had found The One were confirmed when he planned a rock climbing adventure.

“He managed to plan something that he knew I would love even if he didn’t. The fact that he went out of his way to make sure I could do that while we were there just totally got me!” She said.

The Engagement:

Josh knew he wanted to pop the question before his sister’s wedding in August so that Danielle could be part of the family.

He planned for their trip to Chicago as the perfect “surprise element” for their engagement, and consulted with friends, family and Paparazzi Proposals to help him plan and capture their big moment!

For Andrew, it was after his mom passed. Denikka was there for him every step of the way, comforting him and supporting him. For Denikka, it was when they first parted ways heading off to college. As her heart ached to be away from his side, she knew she had found “the one.”

Their love story was a classic one, having been high school sweethearts. Their personalities were a perfect match. A mutual friend introduced them, and they became good friends over the course of the next year. Spencer, who says he is often reluctant to trust people, felt instantly at ease with Mackenzie, and Mackenzie admired the time and effort Spencer put into building their friendship.

In January of 2014, Mackenzie returned to college in another state, but the two kept in touch. Spencer soon came to visit, and by the end of the trip they both agreed that their relationship had grown from a solid friendship into a true romance.

Love was stronger than distance–1300 miles, to be exact– and the two continued to date over the next year. Their relationship blossomed, and they fell deeply in love.

Spencer, who had stuck to an organized plan for his life up until this point, began to notice a shift in his outlook.

“I was willing to forget about my plans, because I would rather have her than continue my plans without her,” he said.

Mackenzie began to consider the possibility of quitting school and moving back to Texas in order to be together, because she knew she wouldn’t be happy without him in her life.

The two discussed marriage and a future together. Mackenzie knew that Spencer would be proposing soon, but he wanted to make sure the experience surprised her with how romantic and thoughtful it was.

After reviewing several Dallas proposal ideas, Spencer felt a romantic gondola ride would make for the perfect proposal.

With some help from our friends at Gondola Adventures, he was able to transform Dallas into Venice for their big moment.  He kept it a secret because he wanted it to be a special event that he and Mackenzie could share and remember forever.

There were even more surprises! As their gondolier gently guided them on a romantic ride along the canals of Las Calinas, Christina noticed a bottle floating in the water…

As she pulled the bottle from the canal and opened it, she was surprised to find a love letter. As her eyes slowly started to scan the note, Josh made his move. He got onto one knee, pulled out a gorgeous engagement ring from Fuller’s Jewelry and asked Christina to marry him. Even more heartwarming than the proposal? Their love story! Introduced by  mutual friends while attending the University of Texas at Arlington back in 2012, they first played it safe and met briefly for lunch a few times to get to know one another. From the moment they met Josh was taken aback by her stunning looks. More importantly to him, she was also kind and caring. Christina on the other hand, was immediately attracted to his values and honesty. They both enjoyed the afternoons they spent together so much, they felt ready for their first “official” date at the legendary State Fair of Texas. And so began this crazy dance we call love!

After dating for a while, they decided to buy a dog together. This brought out a tender and caring side Christina had not seen before. It melted her heart, and she realized he was the man for her. When asked the moment he knew she was “the one,” things happened a little quicker for Josh. While on that first date at the fair, he admitted to being instantly hooked by how much fun she was. After spending several hours with her on that day, he only wanted to spend even more, and knew this was the woman he wanted by his side for the rest of his life. Here’s to them living happily ever after!
