The pair went for a sunset walk on a beach when they seemingly stumbled on a blanket, roses, and champagne. Little did Pearl know, the set up was for her. Our hidden proposal photographer had set it all up waiting for Andy to lead her there.

Pearl was shocked when Andy got down on one knee and asked for forever. Our San Diego proposal photographer captured the entire moment.

Then Andy pointed out our surprise proposal photographer, a second surprise for Pearl!

The newly-engaged couple went for a walk along the beach as an engagement photo session at sunset.

James picked a perfect evening, just at sunset to propose to Melanie. He and our Hawaii proposal photographer picked a top beach to propose in Hawaii too: Papailoa Beach.

Melanie was on the beach with her friends who in on the whole surprise proposal waiting to happen. When she turned around, James there was on one knee asking her to marry him. Our hidden proposal photographer captured the whole event. What a perfect spot to propose at sunset in Hawaii!

After the proposal, James and Melanie had an impromptu engagement session at sunset right on Papailoa Beach.

Their friends joined them for some celebratory bubbly too!

One of our favorite San Diego engagement proposals was Ojas and Aakruti’s with all of their family and friends.

Ojas took her .on a romantic stroll on the beach, but she had no idea what was to come! With a beautiful view of the ocean and pier, he got down on one knee. After, their family and friends came out to celebrate the big moment with them. We also got a chance to hear how they met and fell in love, and we fell in love with their love story!

How and when did you meet?

“We were introduced to each other on an Indian matrimony site. Ojas liked my profile and reached out to get to know me. The first time I spoke to him was when he FaceTimed me. I had just returned from working a 12 hour shift and I looked a mess. I’m not sure what made him decide to keep contacting me afterwards. We chatted every night though. By the first month we wanted to meet face to face but he was in Texas and I was in New York. We tried to meet up sometime in November but I had to work the weekend he flew over. We missed the opportunity. After two months of video chatting and a couple of hit and misses I made the decision to fly to Austin. We had our first date on the 12th of December.”

What was the first thing that attracted you to the other?

“Looking back I don’t think it was just one thing that impressed me. He was a good listener and honest. He always asked me my opinion on things. The most important thing though was that he was committed. Even when I lost my temper or seemed too quiet, he’d always worked his way into my heart and helped me express myself.”

When did you know that they were the one?

“There wasn’t an actual date. With everyday we spent together we felt closer to the other. The long distance relationship also made us value our time together even more. So we cherished each moment. We talked about everything and sometimes nothing at all, but we were comfortable in each other’s silence. One day I just spilled out I was going out with him and then the next moment I wanted him to meet my family. It all spiraled out from there. My love for him just grew more.”

Why did you decide to propose when you did?

“It was just the right time. We started out talking about our future plans. Somewhere along the way “I” changed into “we”. My plans became our plans. Apparently he was planning to propose to me since my brother’s wedding back in July. The actual proposal was a total surprise for me.”

Did anyone help you plan the proposal?

“Our families helped in planning the proposal. My mom and sister-in-law made sure I packed everything for the day. They even convinced me to pamper myself and get my nails done. In hind sight I knew something was up. My brother and Ojas’ cousin helped to set up the the stage in a way. They bought the props like a fluffy blanket, chocolates and a bouquet of red roses. He proposed to me at Ocean Beach.”

Where did you purchase the ring?

“He bought the ring from a local merchant Diamond Direct in Austin. They helped him out of the way to find perfect 1.18 carat diamond ring for me. The number is special to us. It’s the day he first asked me to be his girlfriend, January 2018.”

3. Water Adventures

Maybe you want a little bit more than romantic relaxation? Add a little thrill by adventuring in Oahu. With warm waters and tropical weather all year long, Oahu has endless opportunities for water activities. From sailing, snorkeling, scuba diving, stand-up paddling, surfing and big wave watching, there is something for everyone. We just advise to propose prior or after going in the water, because the infinite sea and a small diamond ring don’t go well together.

4.) The Love Letter

It might sound cheesy or overdone, but people continue to do it for a reason. A letter vocalizes what words cannot and sometimes what you really want to express is easier written into words than spoken. Lead to it with a scavenger hunt or have it laid out with the ring, roses, and a bottle of champagne. The letter will not only symbolize your love for your partner, but prove to them that chivalry isn’t dead, they just hadn’t found the right person yet.

5.) Stargazing

Just like the beach, it’s almost impossible to talk about Miami and not think about the ocean. It’s surrounded by it! A boat ride is an intimate and romantic way to propose, and will separate you from all the noise and action of the large city. Whether you take a cruise or rent out a boat, the Miami waters are infinitely blue and calming. Bring along some champagne, lunch and chocolate covered strawberries, and enjoy a breath-taking sunset with the company of your new fiancée.

5. Keeping it Simple

Our last tip to proposing in Miami isn’t a specific place or idea, but just to keep it simple. By simple, we don’t mean not to put any thought or effort, but to forget about what other people have done, and just focus on making your partner happy. Miami is filled with an unlimited amount of stunning settings, that you don’t have to worry about being able to spend thousands of dollars to have a perfect proposal. If you’re able to have your proposal written on a banner and carried across the sky, great! But writing it on the sand or a love note on paper is just as romantic. By keeping it simple, we mean to keep it within your limits and capabilities. Always keep in mind this includes weather, last minute changes, or anything that doesn’t work out how you’ve imagined it. Get rid of the image in your head of what a proposal is suppose to look like and replace it with what’s in front of you, because we promise what you have is so much better. What you have is someone who loves you and can’t wait for that special moment, and we can’t wait to help you make it happen.

How They Met

Tom opted for our Beautiful Beach Proposal package

Tom and Tony met on one crisp Chicago night in September of 2013.  They had been chatting online for quite a while before Tom worked up enough courage to ask Tony out on a date.   

From the beginning, their romance was full of thoughtful gestures!   Tom decided to surprise Tony by keeping the location of their first date a secret.  He suggested they should meet up on the train platform when he actually had a romantic dinner planned nearby at Tony’s favorite Italian restaurant.  During their post-dinner stroll along Lake Michigan, Tony joked that Tom owed him $2.25 for the train ride he never took.

Conversation flowed easily between them, and they both instantly knew they shared a deep and genuine connection.

How They Knew:

Tom knew that Tony was The One on their first Christmas together, when  Tony surprised him with a romantic evening downtown.  Tony had flowers waiting, and told Tom he never wanted to spend another Christmas without him!  

Tony knew that Tom was the one when he took Tom home to meet his family for Easter.  Tony loved how perfectly Tom fit in with his family, and realized that he wanted to share moments like these with Tom, forever.

Two years after their first date, Tom popped the question!  He carefully planned another romantic getaway to California and proposed on the sandy shores of the Pacific!

With the help of the staff at the Ritz Carlton, Ryan had arranged for a private sunset dinner for two overlooking the beach. After the appetizers were brought out, so was the first of many surprises for the evening.

Ryan played a short video of a jeweler meticulously crafting of a special one of a kind ring. As Amy watched the video come to an end, he held her hand and helped her to her feet. Looking into her eyes, and professing his undying love for her, he revealed secret #2, the ring from the video! As tears welled in her eyes, Ryan slowly got down on one knee and asked if she would spend the rest of their lives together. Amy quickly shook off the shock to declare “YES!”

They popped a bottle of champagne and our photographer, hidden and secretly taking pictures of the proposal (secret #3!), now made himself known. Amy was delighted Ryan had arranged proposal photography to capture the actual moment he proposed, to share with friends and family, and cherish these photographs for a lifetime. Having previously lived in the City by the Bay, Eduardo knew that he wanted his engagement photos to feature the Golden Gate Bridge in the background.

Eduardo contacted Marry Me Proposals to assist him in proposing to his long-time girlfriend, Maria, with a beautiful picnic set up on the beach of Crissy Field.  Eduardo already knew that he wanted to propose with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background and that he would be presenting Maria with a scrapbook reflecting their relationship over the years.  Marry Me Proposals worked very closely with him to come up with a picnic design that would blow Maria away!

On the day of the proposal, it was an incredibly warm day in San Francisco (a rare phenomenon) and the sun shone down with no fog in sight. When Eduardo and Maria strolled up to the picnic laid out all for them, Maria was incredibly surprised and excited. Eduardo pointed out the book which she quickly picked up and read through. Once she got down to the end, she turned around to face him and Eduardo proposed. The happy couple celebrated with champagne as their two friends arrived to wish them congratulations.

Chelsea never expected the surprises that were to come…

Walking along Hermosa Beach at dusk seemed perfect enough. Little did Chelsea know though that Andrew had organized in advance to have a friend come and set up a picnic blanket in advance, laid out with a beautiful bouquet of flowers and cold bottle of champagne. Our Paparazzi Photographer was also photographing their arrival from a distance, poised to get the moment he dropped to one knee. When they arrived and Andrew proposed, Chelsea’s face was brimming with emotion. The setting sun and the pier in the back ground proved the perfect backdrop for some portraits afterwards as well.
