The couple was visiting from Los Angeles, and he wanted to make sure that their New York City proposal photography beautifully captured their New York engagement, for them to share with family and friends.

After Jordan proposed, we caught up with the happy couple to learn about how they met and fell in love!  Read on for a sweet story.

How They Met:

Him: Nora and I met through a mutual friend.  Shortly after Nora moved from Chicago to Los Angeles in July 2014, one of my best and oldest friends who lived in Chicago, sent an email to both Nora and me telling us we “must” meet.  Following our friends’ advice, we went out on a blind date.  It was the best advice I have ever received.

I don’t know if I can pinpoint a single feature that first attracted me to Nora.  I do remember that when I first saw her step out of her car on our blind date, I couldn’t believe how beautiful she was.  But that night I was even more impressed with her intelligence, kindness, and sense of humor.  I grow more and more impressed with, and attracted to, Nora with each passing day.

Her: On a blind date two weeks after I moved to LA from Chicago! Jordan’s childhood friend married one of my good friend’s and he sent a long email about all the reasons why we should meet. We met at Shutters in Santa Monica.  Jordan had the most amazing green eyes and the best sense of humor!

How They Knew:

Him: After our first date, I knew that Nora was special and that what we shared was special as well.  It was a feeling that I had never before felt meeting anyone else.  It didn’t take long for me to realize that Nora was the only person with whom I would want to share the rest of my life.  But if I had to pick a single moment, it would be the first time I realized that my self-motivation and inner-ambitiousness to be the best in my industry was no longer the single driving force behind the diligence and hard work I put forth every day at work.  I recall one day at work realizing that being “the best” was not good enough; I had to be at “my best” every day in order to give Nora a fraction of the life she deserves.  This epiphany—that Nora drives me to be the best version of myself—made me realize that Nora was the person who I wanted by my side for the rest of my life.

Her: My dog, Mattie is a rescue and basically dislikes all males. We staged an introduction and she was putty in his hands. That was the sign!

The New York Marriage Proposal Plan

I knew that I wanted to propose someplace outside of Los Angeles in a city and a place that would always carry special meaning for Nora and myself for the rest of our lives.  Nora had lived in New York for three months and had told me that she thought Central Park was the most beautiful place in New York and one of the most beautiful places she had ever been.  We had been planning a trip to New York, so I Central Park was the perfect place to ask her to marry me.  I did my research and determined that Bow Bridge would be the perfect location in Central Park, as it is both beautiful and serene. I planned the proposal myself, but Paparazzi Proposals definitely helped me fill in the details to execute the perfect proposal!

The Engagement Ring

Jordan hand picked the perfect diamonds to make for an engagement ring that perfectly suited Nora’s style. The center stone is from Los Angeles diamond retailer Miro Jack Diamonds, and the two end stones are from L.A. jeweler Roxbury Jewelers.

Their Story:

Javier and Marimar met eight years ago and shared an instant connection.

But at the time, they were both dating other people.  It wasn’t until a full year later that both of them found themselves single and thinking about one another that Javier took the chance to contact Marimar and ask her out on a date at a nearby restaurant in Mexico City.

The chemistry was undeniable.

They had an amazing conversation that continued for hours, and when the restaurant closed, they headed to a nearby bench so that they could continue chatting with one another.

“It was like a strange force!” said Javier of their instant attraction.  Besides being drawn to each others’ good looks, they also related to each other on a deeper level and wanted to spend as much time together as possible.

Javier says he knew after one week of dating that he had found The One, and after five incredible years, he proposed!  The pair had always dreamed of visiting Central Park while traveling through NYC, so he took the opportunity to make two dreams come true at once with a picturesque park proposal!

And our sneaky snapper was able to capture all the action so that the happy couple can relive their engagement moment time and again with gorgeous photos!

She meant the world to him, and this moment was so important that he wanted to commemorate it with beautiful photographs they could both cherish for a lifetime. So we had one of our discreet, paparazzi-style photographers in perfect position to secretly capture the very moment he dropped down to one knee to propose. Before we tell you how he did it, why don’t we share their heartwarming love story!

They met over five years ago while working in the same office together. It wasn’t until close to three years later that they went on their first date. They quickly bonded over a few beers at Dive 75 and a quick bite at a New York City favorite, Gray’s Papaya. Their conversation flowed and they both felt one another was easy to talk to. Needless to say, they laughed together long into the night. They say distance only makes the heart grow fonder, and this is exactly how and when they both realized they had met the person with whom they wanted to spend the rest of their lives with.

They had only been dating for six months when James was forced to travel to South Africa. What was nine months felt like an eternity, and they both realized they couldn’t stand to be apart, and never wanted to leave each other’s side again.

James was soon ready for the next step. So with a little help from their families, he planned a romantic surprise proposal on the Upper West Side. With his entire family in town for Easter, he recruited them to help pull it off. While “waiting for the family to get ready for the day,” they took a stroll to picturesque Riverside Park to kill some time. As they walked into the park, James pointed out an acoustic guitar player. As they approached to listen, Elise noticed a bouquet of roses and a card with her name on it sitting in the open guitar case…

As she opened the card and began reading, James made his big move. He slowly dropped to his knee, pulled out a stunning engagement ring from Diamond Ideals and asked is she would spend the rest of her life with him. She proudly declared, “YES!” That wasn’t end of the surprises! Taking a break from strumming, the guitarist, provided by our friends at 45 Riots, pointed someone out in the distance. It was none other than Paparazzi Proposals‘ hidden proposal photographer who had been secretly snapping pictures of every second of this amazing moment. As the newly engaged couple posed for some portraits, there was yet another surprise! Excitedly entering the park was James’ entire family, who had been waiting close by with some strawberries and chilled champagne to celebrate! Our couple came in from out of town and were blown away by what their picnic turned into.

The shorelines of the island of Manhattan have a view of something different that will make you gaze at it for as long as you can stand. Our couple’s proposal was set to take place in Battery Park and the view of the Statue of Liberty there is just marvelous. You’ll forget what time it is and stay there all night.

Lovers begin the flock the city streets and disappear into the night. This couple was a tad different. Instead of taking it to the streets, he wanted a little more privacy and went above ground.

It was a chilly night at the “Top of the Rock.” As they stood on the observation deck that sits atop Rockefeller Center, Matt held Lisa close as they peered at the stunning skyline and twinkling lights of New York City. Deciding it was time to make his move, he slowly turned to face her. As he began to describe how much he loved being with her and how much she meant to him, he dropped down onto one knee. He asked if she would take his hand in marriage and a resounding “yes” carried through the brisk evening breeze!
