Best Places to Propose in Central Park

Bow Bridge

Bow Bridge is one of the most highly photographed places in Central Park, and a favorite proposal location both on-screen and off!  Take a horse and carriage to nearby Bethesda Fountain and walk the short distance from there to the Bridge.  Admire the rowboats in the spring and summer, and the Fifth Avenue skyline peaking above the treetops in the winter, before you pop the question.  Our discreet proposal photographer will capture photos of you down on one knee before joining you for an incredible engagement session!

Cherry Hill

Cherry Hill is the perfect place for a romantic picnic proposal!  The hill is accessible, but slightly off the beaten path, and has gorgeous views of Bow Bridge, the Central Park Lake, and the Manhattan skyline.  Convince your honey to go for a walk in the park, and happen upon a picnic, complete with small bites and a bottle of champagne for you to share a toast after the big ask!  Romantic, low-key luxury.

The Ramble

Get the outdoorsy engagement you want without traveling upstate!  The noise of the city fades away in this small wooded area, as do the crowds.  Also worth noting: the secluded forrest has evergreen trees that make for great engagement photos no matter the time of year. Pop the question on Oak Bridge for a picture perfect moment.

Gapstow Bridge

Get creative with a Gapstow Bridge engagement with a proposal in front of the bridge, instead of on it.   The narrow bridge gets easily crowded, so proposing in front of it is a way to keep your engagement a bit more private. Not to mention, having the stone arch in the backdrop of your proposal is absolutely gorgeous. Paul had the right idea– watch his entire engagement unfold in his proposal slideshow!

Central Park Ice Rink

Nothing says classic romance like a wintry engagement on the ice rink in Central Park!  Central Park is one of our favorite places for an ice skating marriage proposal because it’s less crowded than the Rock Center rink and makes for a more peaceful engagement.

Belvedere Castle

Start your happily ever after with a fairytale marriage proposal at Belvedere Castle.  This hidden treasure in Central Park is an incredible and often overlooked place to propose.  Start off your storybook engagement by taking in the stunning 360-degree views of the park.  When the time is right, drop to one knee and propose!

Central Park Boulder

Climb to the top of one of the natural rock formations in Central Park for a proposal with an incredible view. Elevated above the crowds,  There are several notable rock formations in the Park, and an experienced proposal planner will know exactly where to guide you for your picture-perfect moment.

The Central Park Baseball Fields

The Baseball Fields are the perfect place to propose in the summer months!  Invite your special someone to toss the ball, swapping out the regular baseball for one with a special proposal message, like Adam did! His slides

Bethesda Fountain

Capture your partner’s heart in the heart of Central Park with a proposal at Bethesda Fountain, a trusted favorite for Central Park engagements for its scenery and accessibility.  For some added romance, have a horse and carriage pick you up and deliver the two of you to the fountain!  After you propose, walk to gorgeous Bethesda Terrace for a picturesque engagement session and finish it all off with a trip to the boathouse for a celebratory toast!

The Mall

Last but not least, The Mall.  This iconic proposal spot has made it into just about every romantic New York dramedy to grace the silver screen, a detail that will not be lost on your soon-to-be fiancee. The trees lining the walkway perfectly frame surprise engagement photos.  A truly stunning place to propose, especially in the fall when the leaves are changing!

But she wasn’t expecting that the getaway would end in a stunning Central Park proposal!

Working with Paparazzi Proposals, Bryan planned everything to be absolutely perfect.  After the couple spent a few days exploring all that New York has to offer, he surprised Becca with a carriage ride.  They took in the gorgeous scenery as the carriage rolled along, finally stopping to admire the iconic Bethesda Fountain.  As Becca took in the amazing views, Bryan dropped to one knee inside the carriage!  When she turned around, he presented her with a sparkling ring!  And Paparazzi Proposals captured each stunning moment with surprise engagement photography.

After she said yes, the pair wandered the scenic park for an engagement shoot, pausing on pathways and under footbridges for incredible photos that documented their special moment.

This gorgeous couple went out for a fun Sunday and came back engaged!

The air during March has a different feel in New York City. People are slowly starting to come out of their cave and others begin to occupy the streets once again. With March practically flying by, Rahim made sure that March 2015 would be memorable. The weather was perfect for a nice stroll through the park. With strangers and their families secretly waiting for Rahim and Ria to seal the deal, you can tell that Rahim made sure that every detail was thought out. Rahim also came armed with Paparazzi Proposals and the amazing tunes by 45 Riots. Ria, this wasn’t just any ordinary day.

As our couple made their way towards the Bethesda Fountain, that’s when our snappers started going off and the musician began to get ready. What song did Rahim select? None other than For you by Kenny Lattimore. The mood began to settle in as the butterflies in Rahim’s stomach were more alive than ever. He was getting prepared to ask for Ria’s hand in marriage. You can tell that the element of laughter is so important in this couple’s life. They’re always smiling and that’s what we love to see from a proposal. Smiling couples make our day! They later made their way to the boat house where their loved ones were patiently waiting to congratulate their Rahim and Ria. This was a family affair! Kudos to you Rahim. Congratulations to Rahim and Ria!

Carl’s proposal to Roxanne was beautiful.

A little bit of snow and frigid air wasn’t going to stop Carl from dropping down to one knee. Their love blossomed from the moment they met. These native New Yorkers soon became each other’s world. After a beautiful five year relationship, Carl wanted Roxanne’s laugher to be apart of his life forever and took their relationship to the next level. Their first date was in Boat House that is in Central Park. Carl wanted to bring it back to that moment and that’s why he chose the Bethesda Fountain.

As they made their way through the park, Carl had an engagement ring from David So Diamonds in his pocket. Roxanne was guided by Carl to the talented 45 Riots band that sang for them. A bouquet of roses was waiting for her and before she knew it, Carl was slowly dropping down to one knee. Paparazzi Proposals was there to capture every single moment down to the wiping of her tear. When Carl thinks of Roxanne, the word forever comes to mind. That’s what he sees in her. His soon to be wife has lit up his life. This proposal warmed our hearts despite what the winter air is saying.

Mathew wanted to propose to Maia, but had some work to do before he was ready for the big moment. So weeks in advance, he put his plan into motion.

He wanted his proposal to be original and something she would never forget and never expect. He contacted Paparazzi Proposals and we helped him coordinate one of the sweetest and most thoughtful proposals we have ever been a part of. Mathew had several surprises in store for her! First, he planned on doing it while they were visiting New York City from Miami. For the second surprise, we reached out to our friends at 45 Riots to arrange for an acoustic guitar player to be waiting at the spot Mathew would pop the question. Surprise number three was that we also set up one of our paparazzi-style photographers in the area who would be able to photograph the big moment without Maia having a clue as to what was happening. After a romantic stroll through Central Park, the couple approached the historic Bethesda Fountain. With the guitar player slowly beginning to strum away,  Mathew turned to Maia and sweetly serenaded her. As his song came to an end, he took her hand, knelt down, and asked if she would marry him.
