She had no idea that upon her arrival her life would be changed forever.

Rachel: “We met through a mutual friend in college at Texas State University a little over 4 years ago.”
Dylan: “I met her friend/ roommate in a study session for an exam on my final semester in college. She would always talk about Rachel and show me pictures and I was instantly interested in meeting her. One day her roommate invited me over to hang out with them and that’s when I met Rachel for the first time in person. I knew then she was the one.”
What was the first thing that attracted you to one another?
Rachel: “Oh man, I have a list of things, so this is hard… Super weird now when I think about it but he had a very exotic look, I thought he was Greek or something haha! I also remember thinking that he had really nice eyebrows for a guy and they made his pretty blue/greens eyes stand out even more. His dimples when he smiled is what really got me though, he stills gives me little butterflies with those dimples, and he still gets super embarrassed when I make a big deal about them!”
Dylan: “From all the pictures I saw of her I loved her smile and her eyes. When we finally met in person I feel in love with her ability to make me constantly laugh and the fact that she matched my level of awkwardness/ weirdness.
When did you know that they were the one?
Rachel: “Honestly, within a few weeks of dating. He made me feel like I have never felt before and I knew that I wanted to spend forever with him! I remember telling my mom a couple months after we started dating that I was going to marry him, and, now, 4 years later, here we are.”
Dylan: “Within about a minute of meeting her in person. When we met, I just remember smiling and it never ending and soon after I left we began talking and it’s been the best 4 years of my life.”
Why did you choose to propose where you did?
Dylan: “I thought about a million ways to do this and was beginning to think I would never come up with the perfect idea. But the more I thought about it, I noticed all my ideas had the same thing in common. I wanted it to be casual, fun, and somewhere with a view. Austin is special to us because we both loved the city when we were going to school near there and every time we go back we have an amazing time. So, when Rachel suggested we take a trip to Austin that’s when I knew I would do it. I found a cool rooftop bar at the Fairmont with an awesome view of the skyline. Then I thought it would be the perfect place because she wouldn’t expect her parents to be there, so I invited our parents to surprise her right as I proposed.”
Where did you purchase the ring?
Dylan: “The diamond was my great grandmothers, which was passed down to my mom and then to me to give to someone special. As for the actual ring itself I purchased it at Diamonds Direct in Dallas. For anyone curious about the company that makes the ring it’s Verragio, and they make amazing rings which you an customize. They had a quick turn around time and Diamonds Direct was very easy to communicate with during the process.”
