Often referred to as the Proposal Photographer in New York City, a journalist from Patch followed our very own James Ambler around to figure out exactly what it entails to be a paparazzi photographer to couples about to become newly-engaged. 

Patch interviewed James, discovering exactly what led him to become New York’s premier proposal photography and how he became the catalyst for the entire engagement proposal photography industry, inspiring photographers around the world to follow suit.

So what exactly goes into the process? Prior to Shanil’s proposal, James set up an outline of plan with maps for positioning and what routes to take in Central Park, so James could perfectly be in position to trail behind him and capture all the moments before, during and after! Patch followed James, experiencing exactly what it takes to be Paparazzi Proposal and how to remain incognito. The crowds at Central Park helped.
