Brady reached out to us to capture his surprise proposal to his girlfriend, Michelle, and shared with us their love story afterwards!

“We met on Fourth of July Weekend. Michelle’s cousin and I had some mutual friends in common at ASU, so when I moved to the DC area, I started to look for mutual friends in the area when I noticed she lived in Newport News Va. We started to talk via Facebook, texting, and email for a few months before we actually met in person. What attracted me to Michelle was her eyes and how open and frank she was.”

“I knew I wanted to marry Michelle when I saw her interact with my niece and nephew. I proposed at the Lincoln Memorial because she mentioned a number of times how she would love to visit it. I purchased the ring from Ritani.”

Olivia and Jeffrey met during their junior year of college at the University of Arizona. He was a desk manager at one of the residence halls on campus and Olivia was a desk assistant at another residence hall. They coincidently met during training. Jeffrey was immediately attracted to her from all the other girls in the group, but it wasn’t until the following year, when she was promoted to desk manager, that they were not only able to work together but get to know each other better.

 “I remember walking into our boss’ office one day to make copies, and I immediately hit it off with her. We dated for a little while in college, but it wasn’t until 4 years later that we reconnected in Phoenix and started dating seriously.”

The quality Jeffrey loves most about Olivia is her confidence. When she walked into a room she seemed to not only capture his but everyone else’s attention. Though he’s more of the silent type, Olivia is very outgoing and bubbly.

“She has a sort of magnetism about her that really seems to captivate people, obviously myself included.”

Jeffrey isn’t really sure the one moment where he knew Olivia was the one, but there was always something about her that really kept his interest. When they started dating seriously in 2012, there were a few smaller moments and events that they experienced together that eventually culminated into him realizing there was no one else he would rather spend his life with.

James purchased the beautiful engagement ring from James Allen.

When asked why he proposed where he did, Jeff says:

“We have kind of a weird, cheesy connection to DC. I had only been to DC once before on a school trip in 8th grade, but being a big history buff, I’ve always been fascinated with all the history there. One of my favorite movies is Forest Gump – the movie includes the classic love story of two people who are separated from each other but reconnect in DC at a pivotal moment in the overall plot of the story. So, I definitely relate to that part of the story, and we often jokingly trade movie quotes between Forest and Jenny (“I’m glad we’re here together in our nation’s capitol “, etc). I guess you could say she is my Jenny, so when we decided to visit DC this summer, it only seemed appropriate that I pop the question at the very location that Forest and Jenny reconnect. Pretty corny, but it is what it is.”
