Rafael shared with us the sweet inspiration behind his proposal plan, and more about how he and Jordan met and fell in love!

The Love Story:

Rafael and Jordan met in Atlanta in February 2011.  They were both out with friends for a night on the town when Jordan captured his heart.  He introduced himself and was instantly intrigued by her bright and energetic spirit.  He could immediately tell there was something special about her and shortly after, asked her out on their first date!

As they spent time together, it became more and more apparent that he had found The One!  Jordan was attending vet school two hours away at Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, Alabama, and Rafael said He says he knew for sure that he couldn’t spend his life without her by how much he missed her when she was gone!

The San Diego Marriage Proposal:

A lot of thought went into planning this gorgeous beach engagement!  After picking out the beautiful engagement ring at Robbins Brothers, he contacted Paparazzi Proposals to help him work out all the logistics, and to make sure the magic moment was captured with beautiful surprise proposal photography!

“I felt as though all the elements of the San Diego coast line symbolized my feelings for her,” said Rafael. “The sand symbolized how she has always kept me grounded along with each grain of sand representing only a fraction of the love I have for her.  The ocean symbolized how refreshing and renewed I felt with each touch from Jordan. The sky reflected the endless possibilities that the future held for us and how I always felt that I was one with heaven in her presence.”

Too cute!  Rafael was able to pull off the ultimate surprise engagement, and our sneaky snapper captured it all without her ever knowing he was there!
