And judging from the gorgeous engagement photos, he definitely made the right choice!

After a leisurely stroll by the Santa Monica Pier, he led Tony to a cozy blanket setup complete with roses and champagne. After they shared a toast, Tom dropped to one knee and presented Tony with a striking engagement ring!

How They Met

Tom opted for our Beautiful Beach Proposal package

Tom and Tony met on one crisp Chicago night in September of 2013.  They had been chatting online for quite a while before Tom worked up enough courage to ask Tony out on a date.   

From the beginning, their romance was full of thoughtful gestures!   Tom decided to surprise Tony by keeping the location of their first date a secret.  He suggested they should meet up on the train platform when he actually had a romantic dinner planned nearby at Tony’s favorite Italian restaurant.  During their post-dinner stroll along Lake Michigan, Tony joked that Tom owed him $2.25 for the train ride he never took.

Conversation flowed easily between them, and they both instantly knew they shared a deep and genuine connection.

How They Knew:

Tom knew that Tony was The One on their first Christmas together, when  Tony surprised him with a romantic evening downtown.  Tony had flowers waiting, and told Tom he never wanted to spend another Christmas without him!  

Tony knew that Tom was the one when he took Tom home to meet his family for Easter.  Tony loved how perfectly Tom fit in with his family, and realized that he wanted to share moments like these with Tom, forever.

Two years after their first date, Tom popped the question!  He carefully planned another romantic getaway to California and proposed on the sandy shores of the Pacific!

LGBT Proposal Ideas

Iconic D.C. Engagement

Most recently, Julie’s iconic Washington, D.C. proposal pulled at our heartstrings.  The couple was visiting the capitol from their home city of Boston.  Julie planned the location with the idea that the pair could revisit the spot of their proposal every year to celebrate their anniversary. Then, she reached out to Paparazzi Proposals to make sure that their full engagement story was captured.  From her fiancée’s reaction, it was clear that she had made the right choice. Amy wiped tears of joy away from her eyes when Julie knelt down on the stately marble steps of the Lincoln Memorial, and asked her that all-important question.

Botanical Garden Proposal

Earlier this year, we had the privilege of shooting James and Joseph’s touching engagement. James popped the question amidst the spring blooms of Toronto’s enchanting botanical gardens.  After walking with John through the historic grounds, he paused in a clearing, turned to face him, and knelt down on one knee.  The multicolored blossoms provided the perfect backdrop for surprise engagement photography as John enthusiastically said, “Yes!”

NYC Central Park Proposal

Jake’s overjoyed reaction to Matt’s proposal on Bow Bridge in New York City’s Central Park reminded us of the power of the perfect marriage proposal.  Matt’s thoughtful proposal inspired tears of joy from his fiancée.

Julie chose the memorial for her stunning proposal because she knew Amy would appreciate the simple elegance of the landmark.

“D.C. is a special area to me and I want it to be for both of us,” said Julie.  “We live in Boston, so this way we can have a special trip to go on to celebrate our engagement spot.”

The pair met through Julie’s high school roommate and friend, who worked with Amy and thought the pair would make an excellent match.

For this glowing couple, the sparks actually weren’t there in the beginning.

“We didn’t feel the right kind of chemistry,” said Julie.  “In fact, we were each a bit bored!”

Both underwhelmed after their first meeting, they were convinced to go on a second date by their mutual friend.  They realized they truly enjoyed each other’s company when they realized they could make each other laugh.  The second date ignited the spark of a lasting love that brought the pair to the memorial steps last weekend, where Paparazzi Proposals had a hidden photographer to capture every beautiful moment.

The couple purchased a pair of stunning engagement rings–Amy’s from Long’s Jewelers, and Julie’s from Fairbanks and Perry Goldsmith’s.
