We had a chance to speak with the newly-engaged couple, who shared with us how they met and, inevitably, fell in love.

“The first time we met was on May 9, 2011. Kesha was a freshman at Drexel University (Philadelphia,PA), while I was a sophomore. Her sorority was hosting a philanthropy event when I happened upon their booth. At this time I simply thought she is cute and went about my business. Kesha, however, did not notice me, only thinking this is another fraternity boy. The following spring I was looking for a date to my Fraternity’s formal and a mutual friend of ours suggested I ask Kesha. We began talking and hanging out on the daily after that. Not long after, I asked her to be my girlfriend and she happily said yes.The first thing that attracted me to Kesha was her smile. I could see that she was a fun loving sweetheart after our first few adventures together. She had me on her hook, and all I wanted to do was spend all my time with her.”

“The toughest time in my adult life was when I was abroad for Medical School. At this time I was away from my friends, family, and, most importantly, Kesha. Kesha was my anchor through this difficult time. She motivated me to continue pursuing my dreams, and kept me sane when I was overwhelmed. Knowing she could make me this happy when so far away made me realize just how important she was to me. It was when she came to visit me during my holiday break that I knew she was the one. I was happier than ever, and knew she was the one I would spend the rest of my life with.I knew that Kesha wanted our proposal to be unique and wondrous. I proposed at the stairs behind the Adler Planetarium because it had a breath-taking view of the Chicago skyline. I chose this day to propose, because it was the 5-year anniversary of me asking Kesha out. I had originally asked Kesha to be my girlfriend, in the least romantic way possible. I thought it would be poetic to replace that memory with the perfect proposal.”
