Jill and William went to grade school and high school together.
“She is two years older, so she was always way out of my league and I was too shy to talk to her. We got to know each other through our first job, but we both went off to college and lost touch. After school, I decided to join the Marine Corps, and she couldn’t resist a man in uniform! Just kidding, of course. After all of my initial training, she asked to get together and catch up. Little did I know, this was a date we were going on! As soon as I saw her, I was awestruck as usual. I realized I was hitting the lottery and jumped at the chance of being with her.”
The first thing that attracted William to Jill was her shyness, but despite both of them being shy at first, they meshed well together and hit it off.
Jill was attracted to his chivalry.
“He was such a gentleman and still is to this day. I hit the jackpot.”
Jill knew William was the one a month after dating.
“I told my mom that I ended up in the same situation as her. She fell for a military man, had a long-distance relationship, and then got married. I knew that would happen for me too.”
William chose the San Diego Botanical Gardens because it is a very unique place.
“I had looked at the usual spots to propose in San Diego and it seemed like everyone chose the beach or somewhere very crowded. The gardens are a quiet oasis that I fell in love with.”
