Although they both knew that they were meant to be together, Liz told Carl that she did not want to get married but wanted a life together. But as time progressed and their love grew, she eventually realized she wanted to marry him and spend the rest of their lives together as husband and wife.
So she secretly planned a perfect picnic with a magical view of the Golden Gate Bridge.
